The usual bad behavior and inflammatory response, so becoming to an allegedly well thought of member. Not justified but...typical.

Original and screen play cancel each other out, correct? Since the definition of screenplay is "adapted from another work (book, newspaper/magazine article etc.), it can't be screenplay, so it has to be Writer.
My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT.
FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that.
Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it!

I think any response in this thread not related to writing credits is not justified.

So may we get back on topic or take the discussion elsewhere?

Where exactly in the Contribution Rules is this distinction made?

Actually, the definition of 'screenplay' is "the script and often shooting directions of a story prepared for motion-picture production."

If you are talking about "for Profiler purposes," while the 'hint' in the program still says 'adapted screenplays', that definition is no longer in the rules.  As I said earlier, the rules no longer make a distinction between adapted and original.  The Profiler credit of Screenwriter is now a general Screenwriter/Screenplay/Teleplay credit and Writer is reserved for a credit of 'Writer' or 'Written By'.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

Now this is the definition of "Original Material" not "Screenplay".
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Adapted screenplay is what I was thinking. Somewhere between thinking and typing, I lost that thought. Screenwriter is the correct credit.
