This is the problem with he voting system. I agree, almost all contributors, try to be very careful with their contributions. They are still human (sorry if this offends any aliens on the board ) and still make mistakes. If we as voters cannot even make cursory checks (look at previous contribution notes, reference against images on your computer, even reference your own previous contribution), then we are doing a disservice to the system.
Then the voting system needs to be designed for humans, not computers. It should always show the previous contribution notes on the voting page (at least the last couple of entries). | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 | | | Last edited: by Nexus the Sixth |

| Posted: | | | | If I see a profile that has pingponging data, such as the one you mention Charlie, then that raises a red flag to me.
It is that type of contribution that would make me check and see which data is correct. But, the typical contributions I see seldom fall into those types of catagories.
I'll randomly check submitted data also but I believe it is a disservice to the community and the system to be double check every single contribution.
IMHO this type of micro managing does more harm than good and does not benefit the contribution process.
Contribution issues have been raised in mediadogg's thread and some, such as locking profile data, may help to correct some of these problems if implemented by invelos. |

While I agree with you, for the most part, there are certain areas where I always check...and Overview is one of them. When someone says they are making a correction/change to the overview, I open profiler and have a look at the cover scan. One of the reasons I do this is because, as mentioned earlier in this thread, the overview can have mistakes that are supposed to be included. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | I never bring anything who is in the contribution process on the forum and I don't worry one bit about that one. I'll leave that "contribution" for The Godfather boxset with no comment (except from what I wrote in my vote), I just tought it was funny as an exemple of blind voting (by the way all the no vote were there first). | | | Last edited: by Jimmy S |

Because it happens, that the original no-voter with the proper reason changes his mind (I have even seen it, that it was changed to a yes) and now there is no real reason behind the "Agree with" anymore. Or you agree with something which you originally weren't aware of, when the no-vote comment changes. A simple copy & paste of the reason from the one you agree with is enough to avoid this. I agree! |

| Posted: | | | | Well guess what.
Political discussions aren't allowed here per forum rules, and your signature violates that rule.
The fact that you are "proud" to actually support the Protect IP act tells me all I need to know about the likes of you. | | | 99.9% of all cat plans consist only of "Step 1." | | | Last edited: by Grendell |
