Very nice Same here. Many thanks. Yes, indeed. may I say, an overhaul to the comparison screen was long overdue and this looks like what I wanted an more. Three looooong weeks ahead, although I will move next week, that'sll keep me busy for a while. Looking forward to more news to come, hopefully soon. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. Registered: May 29, 2000 (at InterVocative) |

| Posted: | | | | Can we finally get field lenght issues solved on 3.8? We really need longer fields at least for:
- Other Features - Dividers - Edition - YES/NO reasons for voting - Rating Details - Media Companies
This shouldn't be hard to implement. Pretty please... |

No, and unfortunately for us who have Profile Comparison Plus plugin in overall changes are very minor, at least based on info given in this thread. I understand that this improvement was long waited by those who doesn't own that particular plugin and for the owners too, since that plugin doesn't have a support anymore. I do have to admit that I'm slightly dissapointed, since I was really waiting for the complete Cast & Crew overhaul, but I'm definately not complaining. Any improvement is an improvement | | | Last edited: by Kulju |

| Posted: | | | | Does the new Comparison screen have the ability (or the possibility to have the ability) to be popped out into a new window (ie. one which won't close and disappear when the profile comparison is completed)?
With the current state of cast/crew names, I find that I am never able to accept cast or crew from an update because there is always some common name that is different in my local system. I have been using the Profile Comparison Plus plugin, which allows me to pop the comparison window out into a separate window. Then I can complete taking other updates for the profile, accept thos (not cast/crew) and proceed to manually apply the edits to cast and crew from the update, making changes to accommodate my local database.
It seems like a pretty simple tweak, but it would have huge impact on the maintenance of my local. | | | -fred |

| Posted: | | | | Probably too late to mention this, but for future updates we could use a "motion capture" tag to go along with "voice" and "uncredited" for cast. I'm seeing more and more animated films and shows having 2 people for each role, one who does voice, and one who wears the motion capture suit, credited for "motion capture actors" or something like that. It doesn't feel right ticking "voice" for those we never hear but only see (kind of see I guess). |

Longer role name field in the Cast section would be awesome, too! Nice to know that the New Version Monday is imminent! Agreed. I just ran into an edition field length problem yesterday (it should read "10th Anniversary Edition: 2-Movie Collection," but it could only fit one of those two). It would be nice to have several more fields available for studios as well. I constantly run into films with a dozen production companies (usually European and Asian films, since they lack the financing and production power of the big Hollywood studios to handle large scale films on their own). I don't even care if they are able to be contributed, just that I can use them locally to keep track of. |

But for all who have not been able to use goodguy's great plugin because of partial discontinued support for some time, the addition is major. (I forgot to jump on the bandwagon when I had the chance and have regretted it since.) Matthias set forth the concept and framework for this great idea with his plugin. That is huge given its popularity. But there are a lot of users, new and old, who may have never used plugins before or registered Profiler too late, who have been unable to use Profile Comparison Plus. As it stood, the only way for such a great design to live on for the next generations to take advantage of was for this to happen (being built directly into the program, I mean.) So, for that, I am thankful .... and beside, like scotthm quoted, Ken did point out that there is more to come... whatever that may be. | | | If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

It would be nice to have several more fields available for studios as well. I agree, same thing with Audio Tracks from 16 to 25. Some Blu-rays have unbeleviable amount of Audio Tracks. We also need more CoO fields (at least three, preferably five) and Media Companies from 3 to 5. |

| Posted: | | | | Also following audio options should be added: DTS 2.0 Surround (for example True Blood TV-series Blu-ray release) PCM 3.0 (for example Vicky Cristina Barcelona and some other Woody Allen Blu-rays) DTS 3.1 (for example 4 luni, 3 saptamâni si 2 zile) And when we get started... It would be nice to be able to tag burned in subtitles and and tag for Voice Over (VO) for Audio Tracks. |
