While sharing is not impossible, users must be aware of it and titles which might be available and just how to share, though that part is easy. For years I have told users that if they would like to have any of the hi-res cover scans that i use, instead opf the compressed images that we get from the Online all they have to do is drop me a note and I have sent images literally all over the world.

| Posted: | | | | Don't know if this is at all possible but could we have completely open credits but have them sectioned so each user could choose what part of the credits they are interested in and just accept updates for the selected sections, so say anyone who is not interested in the sound credits would uncheck that section and would not received or be notified of any updates to that particular section. |

| Posted: | | | | Well, well, well, as I only care about the main crew roles, like Director, Writer, Cinematography , Editor, Music and Producers, I am against open credits, too much work and too much hassle in my opinion. But if it comes to open credits, i also got no problem with it, I will just not contribute them then, and still only contribute the main crew just my 2 cents Donnie | | | www.tvmaze.com |

That's a great idea that should keep everybody happy! The problem I see with this option would be establishing how you would determine which onscreen crew credits belong to which section. Contrary to popular belief, I don't think this would always be a simple matter - especially the way those job titles morph over the years. |

| Posted: | | | | We would need to get name linking sorted out before we expand things any farther, but I'm not opposed to it in principle. It does strike me that IMDB is already an excellent resource. Is there some particular advantage to including this data in Profiler other than contributions disputes? I, for one, have never said "I wonder how many movie I won that guy best-boy gripped on." |

| Posted: | | | | IMDb had the potential to be an excellent resource, Ace. Except for some very simple problems. They allowed their users to run completely amuck, with the result beuing that their data is inconsistent and many times it is totally fictionalized in all respects and with respect to crew it is near worthless once you get outside the "Prime" Crew Roles. Additionally to that Ace, their data is not backed up or documented in any form. Their attitude seems to mirror the attitudes of some of our users, "It is because I say it is so." It's why I will NEVER use them as a SOLE source for any kind of data.
