I have told you repeatedly that there is a way that this can handled instead of your behavior. this is about YOU, not about ME. I maintain that your vote was agianst the Rules, as there was no support for it and the error was minor. But I don't really care what YOU think, you behavior is too disgusting for my taste. Simply learn how to behave. And until you do, north, ANYTHING you have to say has no relevance to ANYTHING. I don't deal with jerks. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. - Seriously though, on the yes/no think, I do read them all (off course when there are comments left - sheesh, when people take the time to write something, worth reading! Even if it is only 'ditto')..
- When I see 19 yes and 1 no .. I will look at the comment left by the 'no' and when I see that 19 people agree with my post and 1 does not, I will leave it there (after consideration off course) until I see that more say no.. Some consider themselves (actualy only one) as "gospel" and as the "standard" to follow... There are many people who will vote yyes for almost anything, Lost. So, what you are telling me is that you would rather allow your error (bad data) to be accepted than to fix, simply because its a popularity contest for you. You have said an awful lot about yourself...not positive. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

Skip I have to agree with Skip's statement here. If 1 voter discovers an error that 19 other voters didn't discover, it is in everyones interest that the contributor corrects and resubmits. Often people vote yes without checking the contribution for errors (either because they trust the contributor, or any other reason). | | | Berak

| Posted: | | | | I agree as well... if I get a single no vote on a contribution (if I see it in time) I check why they voted no... and if the no vote is correct... I fix and resubmit... thanking the no voter for spotting it for me... as I want all my contributions to be accurate and per Invelos' rules. Even if it means resubmitting multiple times to be sure I got it all right. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | The only time I'll leave a NO vote stand is if it's concerning cover images. As stated, I'll take their comment under consideration if they don't like something about the cover but if I still believe that the cover scan is good and the vast majority also agree it's better, I'll let the screeners decide.
However, if more than 10% of the voters disagree on something with the cover after a couple days, I'll redo it regardless of how I feel. |

For example, I saw one recently where someone had gone through & added most things, rating details, publisher, overview, cast, crew. They had 1 little typo in the overview & had three or four no votes because of it. He took the 10 seconds or so needed to correct it & resubmitted it & then had only yes votes. |

Norths No-Vote in question was the absolute proper response. I could venture a guess why Skip whines around over it again and again but a lot of 4-letter-words get filtered here. cya, Mithi | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki |

I diedn't bring up the issue here, see another user by the handle of northbloke who brought it up. I merely responded to his BS. Call him pout for his OUTRAGEOUS and DISGUSTING behavior, get off my back. None of you have ANY credibility as long as continue to condone bad behavior by SOME.
Double standards don't cut it.

cheers Donnie Exactly! Lostmule said that he reads all the vote comments, and he also said that he "considers" any no votes given. There are plenty of times a no vote is given because of a difference of opinion as to how to interpret the rules - I mean look at the recent debate about Gene Roddenberry's "based on" credit. So given that, I think what lostmule does is all that we can ask for from a user - at least he's making the effort and attempting to contribute according to the rules. |

Skip Not at all .. hence the reason I will read (as most likely all of us who take the time to correct and create new profiles) all the posts to ensure that what I put is 100% accurate. I have seen some very reputable people voting yes to many of my stuff.. and one (cannot remember which one) voted no with a comment which I have considered and deemed as inconsequential... Last example, I have submitted correction to Space 1999 30th anniversary edition, one individual voted 'no' and quite a few 'yes'.. that only 'no' was enough for me to pull my correction up because he was suggesting that I use 'sub-profile' instead of the way I was doing it, which was an absolute sense!!! So I followed the only one 'no' vote despite all the yes I got... I just wanted to bring that one up.. | | | E |

I just wanted to bring that one up.. Based on what you are saying I agree with you on Space 1999. I have no issue with you, you do seem to be trying hard and for that kudos. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

Meh can be a pain.. you should see the vote I have to some of the movies I have submitted.. 20yes/10no ... what to do .. what to do ;-)
Furthermore, if I would not enter 'scrap' in my database (which is being rebuilt from scratch.. imagine entering 1835 DVD -with a few TV Series)... They were all inside another DVD catalog I had (since 2001) but because of changes they did to their software, I had to shop around for a replacement.. GLAD I did!!!
Again, thanks all! Your mentioning of "another DVD catalog" makes me wonder if it wouldn't be possible for you to import the data from the other program instead of painstakingly entering them one by one. Now of course I don't know which other program you're talking about, but could it be that this forum thread might save you some time?? If so, it would give you a "rough" data set from which you could proceed, first by downloading Invelos updates to the profiles created through the plugin, and then seeing if the result is what you would like to have locally? | | | Last edited: by dee1959jay |

| Posted: | | | | Hello Dee1959,
I would never dream of importing my catalog from the previous software I have been using (from Collectorz, not to mention it)... the reason is simple: The database of that organization is an absolute mess. If you are to look at the quality of the DVD cover (very questionable and most of those are taken from other sites, not scanned by the users), the information inside the Crew, Cast and Overview are not verified by the uses (my assumption since I have found many many many errors in those)... I had been using their software for many years (no longer)..
Now, by not importing my database from that other database (thank God), I am actually looking at every cover, texts, inserting them one at a time in my computer to obtain the Imprints (if they are not already available here) and so on... This way, I am assuring that the integrity of the database 'invelos' and mine are not filled with craps!!!!
Have a stress free day! :-)
