| Posted: | | | | Hmmmm, the UPC and ISBN look like they were copied from some US release, whereas the ratings on the cover (UK and Irish) would suggest to use the EAN at the bottom of the scan and to use UK as the locality.
Smells fishy, I'd have to say. Could this be a bootleg, perhaps? |

Damn...I been found out, now I'll have to find somewhere else to sell all those copies of Star Wars Episode 75: Hans Solo's Zimmer Frame Special. Steve But as I said previously rather Odd all three on a cover, since UPC & EAN are different regions and markets. |

| Posted: | | | | I am wondering the same thing deejay. Given that the upper UPC is Region 1 and belongs to New Line HE not Warner HV, this is beginning to stink pretty good...but why? It's not like it was a major film. We have errant UPC/EANs and ISBN which belong to two other totally legitimate releases, the weird cover is substantially different from the apparently legitimate release posted by Giga. I can't prove it's a boot at this point but there is ceratinly enough ther to question the veracity of the title and iw ould not in any way try and Contribute the title to the database as is. I think I would probably be returning to the place at which it was purchased and demanding an explanation along with a refund. I will keep researching it, but I would call it a boot, as it stands now. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

Paul Depends what you mean by large DVD mailing company in the UK, since most of them opperate off-shore nowadays? Steve |

| Posted: | | | | Ewww, I don't like UK e-tailers. Most of them don't appear to list UPC/EANs as part of their details. I found one that did...but it was the correct one. I also found two that were showing slightly different cover art...no big deal they may not have updated it, one of those also had a back cover which was correct. I found another one which surprisingly enough had NO cover art image at all, a bit surprising since the title has been around for several weeks now.

| Posted: | | | | I like the proof of purchase cut out at the top of UPC/ISBN. I can't decipher the text under the logo/ hologram? at the bottom of the rim: adcon? | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. | Posted: | | | | I'd definitely say that that's a boot. Not only because of the double UPC/EAN thing, but the overview also has some typos and grammar problems, as well as generally quirky expressions I feel only non-English speakers would make. I realize not even big companies like WB are immmune to these kinds of issues, but I doubt they'd let a doozie like "rediscoveryin" through. Or the run-on sentence at the start of the overview.
buffalopaul, what company did you order his from? I'd like to know so I can stay away from them.

| Posted: | | | | The first part of this message is to Astrakan. As this is the first time I have had problems with this company I, at the moment do not think it is permanent to name the company especially as they are still looking into the matter. If when I receive the message from them I am not satisfied I will most definitely tell you. The second part is that I have the dvd and I would like the forum's opinion as to whether I should remove the old entry of the dvd in profiler and see if I can enter it through the info on the dvd. I shall await your response before I attempt to do anything

| Posted: | | | | I'm really sorry to say, but I honestly think you've been sold a pirate DVD there. It's a very well done cover, but there are a number of things on it that just don't ring true: - I've never seen a UK release with more than one barcode on it. Nor do we use the "proof of purchase" on our covers. - The run time says 90 mins but the film is 120 mins, I've never seen a cover that far out. - It has a 1.85 aspect ratio logo, but just to the right it says "presented in 2.35:1 aspect ratio" - The copyright info at the bottom claims the film is called "Wedding Daze" (or something like that - hard to read) - on the spine, the Irish "12" logo has a white block around it - a sure sign it's been cut & pasted from elsewhere.
If the barcode number is already used by another title, I would leave it at that. For your own use, if you plan on keeping the dvd - add the genuine UK dvd from the database (5-060116-721355) and use that profile instead for your database. Just remember you won't be able to contribute anything to that profile. |
