Here's a couple more pics. These examples have a few more boxsets in them. First one with them closed, second with them open.

The Brazil and 3rd Rock boxsets work quite well. The Absolutely Fabulous boxset not so good because the spines are so thin. I haven't done the Blackadder child profiles yet.

Didn't notice, you actually had teh box set in your first picture. Thanks for reposting with it open/close anyway.

It does look cool. I was concerned that it would indent the box sets like in the list view and the list would look off because the child profiles were on a different level. Thats a cool effect, I may have to look into doing that.

If a collection of low quality spines is legit to collect and make available online, maybe someone can create a program that analyzes the local collection with an online collection and downloads the missing spines.

a program like that probably wouldn't be too hard to write. Would need someone willing\able to host the images. How do we find out if this type of thing would be considered legit? As I said, I'd help with the scans, and would even be willing to work on the a program to download from the online collection.

Unless someone comes up with a better method, probably the best way is to just do it.  Don't advertise it all over the net and pray you don't receive a cease and desist order.  As long as it's kept low key, I can't imagine it would get much attention.  And though I certainly can't be certain, I find it hard to believe that any contact with a studio wouldn't start out with simple request to remove the offending material before any kind of law suit happened.  Not that I'm a lawyer of course.
