Skip Thanks for the message, I've seen a couple this morning and vote neutral first (I don't usually vote on date change, too much search needed for something not that important). But after a better look it doesn't look right. Now he/she seems to play with the cover, it incredible how some users want to see their name on contribution and end on my list of "Don't trust this user contribution" |

Point #1 I was not the first to make the comment, I merely echoed it. I didn't say you did, but your post...the way it was written...implied that he should stay out of R1 discussions. Quote: Point #2 There are areas as i explained that I do nothave sufficient information to be able to deal with it, such as potential release conventions in UK, if there are any. Point #3 On those rare ocassions when I electronically cross the big pond, it is NOT rock science, I can see quite easily that Cast or crew data is being mishandled or that an Overview on a back cover might be in say Finnish and someone is trying to Contribute ENGLISH. That doesn't change the fact that you entered into a different region. Since you did so, you have no business questioning someone else entering a region outside of where they live. At best, you look disingenuous. Quote: Put your rocks back in your pouch, you don't know or understand enough to use them. Please do not presume to tell me what I do or do not understand. You do not know me well enough. In addition, if you think I was throwing rocks at you, well, you are not as thick skinned as you say. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. Dirk 'The Road Warrior' has been resubmitted with more 'proof'. It seems he might be withdrawing and resubmitting... | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | "Species" was re-submitted too. Before 3/26/97 was submitted as release date with amazon as the source, now www.widescreenreview.com is given as the source and it changed to 3/25/97, which is a Tuesday.

| Posted: | | | | 3/25/1997 was the very first day of mainstream DVD releases and is considered the unofficial official launch date of DVD movie software. Unofficial because there were a handful of non-major studio releases prior to that date. Anything with a 3/24 or 3/26 from a major studio would be incorrect (and should be fixed in my opinion). | | | Last edited: by nolesrule |

| Posted: | | | | Widescreenreview is not a press release. Note that he is attempting to move the release date from August to March based on third party information. Was Species among the FIRST titles to be released to DVD...frankly I doubt it. But I can't remember.

| Posted: | | | | While not a press rlease, I'd put this list over anything from any sales websites:
http://www.laserrot.com/dvd/availdvd/us/advd-us-dates1997.html
It was compiled in 1997 and finalized in 1998 and hasn't been touched since. Not saying it's authoritative, but you'll notice almost everything is....wait for it...Tuesday.
EDIT: If you look down the list, you'll notice that the non-Tuesday dates were from Playboy and minor distribution houses that were licensing titles (remember Image?), regardless of whether the title was major or minor. | | | Last edited: by nolesrule |

| Posted: | | | | As a UK reader, even I know that "most" US/Canada releases are on a Tuesday I admit, I have got no idea why... Monday seems to work well in the UK (well, most of the time.... sometimes Friday is used for bigger "1st" week sales figures) | | | Signature? | Posted: | | | | I personally wouldn't change a release date without having something official... like a press release. I know tvshowsondvd.com is good for posting these for TV Shows. But I don't know of a place for them on movies... so seldomly change them. | | | Pete |
