I guess I would have to agree that 2.40 should be added since I've demonstrated that I thought it was already in the list!

I'd like to see 2.40 as a item on the dropdown as well.

Not at the expense of 2.20:1 though.  That's a legitimate format that should stay (see Oklahoma! Todd-AO version above--there are others in VistaVision format too).  Just add 2.40:1.

I would frankly call this a VERY low prority issue, given that we can edit and add whatever aspect ratio we need to. There are things that I think are a whole lot more important to the program than this, such as the ability to add real italics and bold or whatever (not colors) to Overviews.

I have to agree with Skip.  I would personally consider this a very low priority.  There are a lot of other things I'd love to see addressed first.

On the other hand, this seems like something that would take Ken about 30 seconds to add.  So if that assumption is true, then I would support the change.  If it involves a lot of his time, then count me out.

I'll go along with Mark going along with Skip on this about the priority issue.  I also agree with Mark that it would probably not take much time to add to the aspect ratio drop down - as opposed to adding formatting codes to the Overview section.  This is the same argument used by those who want additional languages added.

But even if it's a simple change (adding more ratios) maybe it's not worth releasing a new build of Profiler for just the easy-to-remedy stuff -- and Ken is going to bundle them with a more comprehensive build?  Or is that just wishful thinking on my part?

Arguing and opinions on redundancy aside, does everyone at least agree that "2.40:1" should be added?

As a 'replacement' for the rarely-used 2.20 for instance...

I have no problem with that.

Me neither.

That's fair enough, of course.

I have read (and suggested a few of) the "high priority" features, but since those are in limbo or possibly too involved to include at this time I figured I'd go with a smaller priority request.  There's a reason I plugged HD audio and Blu-ray regions in the first post, I consider those much more important.

Major changes/additions in the crew credits as well, but anyhoo...

It's not merely a list of priorities, the time it takes to implement plays a factor too.  If it's simply a matter of editing a row in a table, that could take a couple minutes.

As a programmer myself, I've put in a lot of lower priority issues before higher ones simply because the time it took to implement them was a fraction of the time.

I'd like to see the "correct" 2,39:1 implemented instead...

But did you roll out an interim build with those lower priority issues fixed or did you wait and include them in a more complete version?

Depends on how easy it is to roll out the changes.  In the web world, changes can be pushed out whenever the programmer wishes.  I've seen updates being pushed out to invelos.com today and yesterday morning.  Now with a program such as the desktop app, it's a little bit different.  You can't push out a new release every day because it requires the user to do something to see the new stuff.  In that situation, you would see a tendency to defer release until you have either a lot of changes that you feel would be beneficial to everyone or a a couple big fixes that you also feel would be beneficial to everyone.

Yeah... although as people have pointed out, they're all very close, and 2.39, while it indeed is totally accurate, is less used than 2.40.

Weren't most of those "immediate" changes done to correct major errors in the beta test phase?  I understand the need to push out fixes quickly, but adding a few more items to a pull down list isn't as important as correcting some malfunctioning code, IMHO.
