| Posted: | | | | The one you submitted the change to, is the UPC that is the reason for this thread. If you take a look at the contribution notes for the title, you will see that the last contribution before yours is neither approved nor declined, despite Gerri telling us it was approved. It is processed though, as you no longer can vote on it. | | | The colour of her eyes, were the colour of insanity | | | Last edited: by reybr |

Hopefully this will give Ken a heads up and profile to look at to explain the mystery jykke has linked to. | | | IVS Registered: January 2, 2002 |

That usually means it's been withdrawn by the submitter. The contribution suddenly and simultaneously disappeared from the pending-updates-pages and the His-Profiler-Contributions-page (as it has happened days before with the first 'The Birds'). There seem to be a third, yet undocumented, contribution status: Received -> Disappeared. | | | Don't confuse while the film is playing with when the film is played. And apparently you are ready to just throw the rules of language right out the window, eh? You can't have a possessive without an object. They are two parts of a whole, and you can't separate them.
But, I guess you all are going to do whatever you want to anyway, logic and common sense be damned. Have at it.

He has it backwards anyway. You can have an object without a possessive.
I responded differently in the rules forum, it was similar to what Vibro said but I will repost it here...
John is applying a very narrow view in order to get to your goal. Yes, there has to be an object for the possesive to work but, in this case, the object is the title of the film. I can't believe you are the only one with enough sense to understand that. | | | John

I can't believe you are the only one with enough sense to understand that. I'm a little confused. If you are agreeing with Unicus, then you are agreeing that "The Birds" is the title of the film, since "The Birds" is the object of the possessive "Alfred Hitchcock's" and Unicus stated that the object of the possessive is "the title of the film".. | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |

| Posted: | | | | I think you have all, lost your minds.
The title is almost always in quotes in the credits section on the back cover.
It happens extremely rarely that this is not done in region 1. For those rare instances that it isn't, we can deal with them on a one by one basis. It really does happen that rarely.
Pick a DVD from your collection and look for yourselves.
Quit knocking yourselves out in a vain attempt to do something that has already been done for you. | | | Dan | | | Last edited: by Dan W |

| Posted: | | | | LOL... yes... I agree with you Dan... at least the part on finding the possessive/title on the back cover. Not sure about them loosing their minds... in some cases they have to have something to begin with to loose it.* * Please note that is only a joke... I have nothing but respect for you all! | | | Pete |

Because when this thread started, I went to check out the contribution and never could find it. That's why I assumed that it must have been a different UPC. Whatever the case, if the old contribution has vanished, that it's just as well I re-did it. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.
