While it is true that Bart Mixon is credited as a Puppeteer in the Cast section for these movies, I was not sure that those credits should be counted and included in his Crew section credits, so I left those out.

If it's him, it should be counted.

We use the most commonly credited name for a person. It doesn't matter if those credits come from the cast or the crew section, they 100% should be included in your totals.

Cast and crew are interchangeable when we're trying to figure out a common name.

Based on this conversation, I will now include the Puppeteer Cast credits in the count for this EFX artist.  Thanks!

Note: I am only including what I could determine from the CLT that are actually Make-up or Special Effects artist or Puppeteer credits in the database.  Feel free to confirm any additional that you may have.  Thanks!

Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy: Bart Mixon (Cast) (available to view in 3 separate parts on YouTube)

The Beast: Creature Effects by ME*FX Bart J. Mixon
*I could see an argument for this for Creature Designer for sure and I know I've seen them entered into the system as such, but if one in this thread (Magic in the Water) is said to be invalid, then I suppose this one would have to be invalid.

Still, invalid or not, if all titles in the system are accounted for, it's enough to say that Bart J. Mixon is the common name for now.
The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play.

Also, I gotta say, I don't think the word "key" should be enough to invalidate the credit for X-Men: The Last Stand (Bart J. Mixon).

I actually think that all terms that apply to make-up should be allowed to apply to the make-up effects category as well, otherwise we would be seriously limited. Are we really going to say that if something was credited as Key Make-up Effects, or Lead Make-up Effects, or Make-up Effects Designer or Head Make-up Effects that we wouldn't let them in?    Key Prosthetic is absolutely a direct translation of the credit (and if we're being totally honest with ourselves, we all know that "Prosthetic Make-Up" exactly credited as that is NOT the only credit that gets entered as Make-up Effects for Prosthetic. I can't even count the number of times I've seen the credit of Prosthetics (or Prosthetics by) get entered as Make-up Effects.)

So I think Bart J. Mixon should for sure have 21 credits and X-Men: The Last Stand should count towards that total.

Just sayin'. Could just be me. Just those mostly worthless 2 cent thoughts.

It should be valid. We credit Key Makeup Artist. Why not Key Prosthetics.

My thoughts exactly. They're both Makeup credits. Why would we credit one Key Makeup credit but not another? Doesn't make any sense. The rules still should probably be expanded, but I don't see why this isn't valid (if nothing else, at this moment, it's definitely a direct translation which the rules allow for).

I think that I can agree with the above conversation, and give credit to Bart J. Mixon for the film X-Men: The Last Stand.    Thanks guys for your discussion on this topic!

A lot of great research and work and discussion by all of those involved!

If everyone agrees, it appears that for now, Bart J. Mixon will be the Common Name.

Same Kind of Different As Me: Bart J. Mixon
A Dog's Journey: Bart Mixon
My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT.
FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that.
Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it!
