| | Posted: | | | | I kinda figured this kind of result would happen. Right now, I re-size my player window at 2 different sizes to check the ratios and if both show .2 or more, I change it. For the future, I will use .3 or more. For the record, I partially agree with T!M. Those fuzzy edges make it tough some times, that's why use 2 different player window sizes to arrive at my result, along with other little details I won't bore you with here. | | Posted: | | | | There should be no fuzzy edges on anamorphic DVDs. The same goes for blu-ray unless the releasing studio screwed up the encode but those are few and far between. |

I'd go with the next best fit "standard" aspect ratio. No need to whip out the measuring tools and add funky aspect ratios like 2.36:1 because it came up to 2.3567193:1 or something. If it's as rdodolak says and the aspect ratio of Titus is in fact 2.31:1 on BD, then fine. Seems different enough and far away enough from a regular AR to include. I agree with surfeur51 on this one.
Thanks for the input guys and gals. Me, I just use the back. But that is me based on what time I want to spend on the AR data element. I have no problem if someone wants to spend the time to accurately determine the actual AR and it is different. As long it is documented in the notes properly on how it was determined. From what I have seen there is not a lot of ping-ponging of the data in these cases. In fact I cannot recall any (but I am sure it has happened in some cases) |
