Don't worry, be happy.

Very useful. But I think the half of your posts here is that useful to other users.

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

I hate to say it, but I was auditing Broken Arrow and the credits list him as:
John (D.J.) Des Jardin

but the credit is for Digital Supervisor - doesn't mention any other variation of FX. Do we use the context of the header Special Visual Effects by vifx and if so why don't we use the context of a header that says Additional Visual Effects by vifx as invalid?

Only to understand: Marty falsifies the verification of Kluge and ateo doubts the validity of the credit at all. - ?

X-Men: The Last Stand >> Additional VFX Supervisor : John "DJ" Desjardin >> Invalid
Cliffhanger >> Additional Visual Effects and Video Display Graphics by Video Image : John DesJardin >> no role specified, they are all directly under the header

I will admit that I may have missed it, but why is the above credit invalid?

I mentioned it because the common name list has him listed as:

John "DJ" DesJardin (8 confirmed, 1 unconfirmed, 1 invalid)
Broken Arrow (confirmed by Kluge)

and that's incorrect. The rules say to list Digital Supervisors.

for X-Men he is listed by himself as Additional VFX Supervisor = invalid or are we including individual credits for additional (whatever) this year.

and for Cliffhanger he is under a VFX company header and even though there isn't a specific job title he is included because of the context of the header, but the the word Additional is ignored when it is in a company header (not my thinking), but isn't ignored when in a header for Additional Photography.

Under a VFX, DFX or SFX header or just in general - a Digital Supervisor by themselves or can it be within a sound header?

I know what he was credited as, my question was, why is that an invalid credit?  I checked the rules and can't find where it is listed as an invalid credit.

EDIT: Never mind.  I did a search and found that, back in 2014, 35 people decided that it was an invalid credit.  I guess that is the rule now.  Yet another reason why I don't bother with common names and I edit my own profiles.

That is why I posted additional whatever this year. It may change again and 35 people will decide additional individual credits are ok. I also asked why the VFX headers with Additional was allowed but got a lame answer. I guess it is pick and chose when context is viable.
