Fritz your scan is really good, I'm desperately trying to make one but I think my scanner doesn't like this steelbook thing... Could you give me a raw (without the slipcover) image of the front ? It would help me a lot...

Unfortunately this is not a scan. It is sold only from Sept. 13th here, the image I posted is just the one on www.amazon.de, I have not the Steelbook yet, sorry.

With all the talk on this title... I just couldn't help but to pre-order a copy. I really enjoyed the film when I saw it at the theater... Thankfully my copy there won't be much confusion on the title...

The only question will be if the possessive belongs... which we won't know till we see the back cover.

We've got the same steelbook here in France...
In conclusion, we should contribute it with the local release title ("Avengers" here in France).

Am I right ?

For original title, I see a lot of "Marvel's The Avengers" in the database... Is it the real original title ? I thought it was just "The Avengers"...

I have an early copy of The Avengers (I have a friend who works for a distributor) and at the end credits right after some Assistant and Unit Director credits, but before the cast credits is "Marvel's The Avengers". So since the the disc credit title is Marvel's The Avengers, that is the original title.
My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT.
FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that.
Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it!

Unless it is the same on the case... what does the credit block say? "Marvel's The Avengers" or Marvel's "The Avengers"?

Edit:
If in the Credit Block it says  "Marvel's The Avengers" then that would go in the title field and the original title would be blank per the rules.

Otherwise we'd need to take the half circle left of the "A" into consideration too which would actually give us a "CA" as title...

Taking an even closer look we get (A-  ...

This is the only good solution, since, as we all know:
- rules are perfectly clear on this case
- rules must be followed in all cases
- common sense is forbidden in Invelos contribution world

If another title is accepted, think all other cases where we could interpret rules... , with, as a result, a useful online database

On the European ones, at least, the credit block looks like this 'Marvel's The Avengers'

On the covers, for all UPC's I believe, the font size of the word Marvel's is smaller than the font size for the words The Avengers. So, as I stated earlier, I used The Avengers as the title, and Marvel's the Avengers for the original title since Marvel's The Avengers is both the credit block and disc title (right before the complete cast list scrolled by).

But that don't matter per the rules if it has the entire thing in quotes...

Quote:
Include possessives if the front cover includes them, and if they are verifiably part of the title. If quotes surround the title in the credit block (generally on the back cover), check whether the possessive is within the quotes. In the absence of quotes to verify, check the font size used for the title on the front cover. Generally, possessives which use a significantly smaller font are not part of the title.

See what I put in bold. Per the rules in that case the correct thing would be...

Title: Marvel's The Avengers
Original Title: Blank

Also notice the rules says generally on font size.. not always... which also leaves it open.

What is the original title for this movie? Was it released as just "The Avengers" in cinemas in USA? All official sources seem to refer to it as "Marvel's The Avengers" now, which is the same title as it has in the credit block on the back of the Blu-ray Cover, and on their website.

Totally correct.

Title should be: A

Follow the rules.
99.9% of all cat plans consist only of "Step 1."
