| Posted: | | | | But Scott and DJ have a point here.
There's absolutely no sense in contributing a plain black back if another side of the cube provides more information. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | It is not a cube... it is shaped more like a book... it is more akin to a spine.
I am sorry... there is no way I can see that as a back... and the rules state that it must be front and back only. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I was meaning the geometrical form "Cube".
This means a 3-dimensional, six-sided, all angles rectangular form. It's not necessary that all sides of a geometrical cube have the same size, it can be brick-shaped too. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | The rules still says Front and Back only... and there is no way I can see this thin strip as a back. Like I said... the case is shaped like a book... the thin strip is like the spine.
The way I have it is the only way I can see my contribution being within the rules. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I am a very rules oriented person... there is no way I can contribute (or vote for) something I believe is against the rules. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Not to mention... if I made that the back... logic would tell me that the opposite side is the front... then we would have a blank black front cover. | | | Pete |

Absolutely agree on this one, but this might only be, because the creators of the rules only thought "normal" cases like a KeepCase. Anyhow, we cannot know, what they meant, we only know what's written, so you are correct. It just doesn't make much sense to me. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! | Posted: | | | | Well... I refuse to break rules just because they don't seem to make sense in a particular case. Which is what it seems like people were pushing me to do here. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I can't remember exactly the cases but I remember Ken has allowed a variance to the rules in specific instances. Since the back cover contributes absolutly nothing to the database this seems to be one that might fall into that catagory.
Hopefully Ken will read this post or I would send a note to see if the contribution might be made using the UPC side of the case.
I don't see people pusing you to do anything Pete - you asked for opinions and that is what they are doing.
Personally, I feet that in this case the rules make abslutely no sense and that black cover should not be contributed. Since I wouldn't want to break the rules though I would submit only the front cover for both scans. |

| Posted: | | | | If Ken wants to make an exception that is one thing... but that has to be his decision... not something we can just decide to do on our own. | | | Pete |
