No need to. They are DVD-R so it's evident the ID is always different.

Wow.  You lied your first post (though perhaps out of ignorance), and insulted a poster who refuted your lie in your second post, and at the same time managied to derail this thread.

Along the way, have you come to understand that the premise of the OP is incorrect?

I purchased about 50 WB Archive DVD-R. Trying to get evidence I randomly compared disc id from my copy against disc id from Invelos data base. Some of them match and some do not.

In your world following DVDP voting rules is not common practise.

WOW always sad because I told you to grow up in a PM after you came whining on one of my vote... Guess it didn't happen as bringing PM on the board is childish and really make you look like a little whining kid. You know what is even funnier, I would have deleted my vote if you wouldn't have played the "I will report you and you will loose your voting privilege" card. As if I would care to vote or not since I don't use the database... Really grow up

The guy from whom you usually do the cheerleader for do it often and usually you are more than happy to derail the topic also.

I was talking of the way normal people create a DVD-R and not the way the thieves rip a complete dvd to give it to a friend. Just a question of perspective, maybe it's different for those DVD (I know it isn't the case for the MOD DVD-R from SWV by exemple...). But they are exceptions and not really how the commercial DVD-R are usually produced by the label.

I've made copies for some friends and they always had the same disc-ID since I was using the same ISO.

And you are proud of that? Not that I want to call you a thief but...

FYI: I was talking about free non-commercial DVDs. I don't remember the titles but one was a fan made Star Wars movie. Not that I see what difference it makes to the topic or what business it is of yours.

As for some dics IDs still being different, that happens on commercial factory made pressings as well.

You were completely wrong, because you put the word "always" into your statement:

As already mentioned: You really should check your attitude and your knowledge about the laws elsewhere before starting a shouting match. It is perfectly legal to make copies of DVDs in some countries and giving them away.

No, you where talking about your poor understanding of how to make a DVD-R. I mean, honestly, of course such discs are produced of a stored ISO, how else would someone do that?

Are you blind or is your logic-module in a urgent need of fixing? How is 50% identical DiscIDs "always different"?

I didn't brought any PMs out to forums, you did. I just stated the fact that you knowingly vote against the rules if the change doesn't suite your personal preferences. In light of that I just find your "I follow the rules and laws" act funny. Nothing more, nothing less.

I didn't play any card. I just pointed out the rules.

This pretty much sums up your attitude. You don't even use the database but you still bother to vote knowingly against the rules. I don't get you...

Just to be sure... You do know that all countries doesn't live under Canadian legislation???

If people don't use the database or submit contributions anymore or vote on contributions, why do they hang out in the forums?

And as to the OP. I would venture a guess that they have multiple copies of the masters. The same as they did for music albums and celuloid film. It would only be reasonable to think they would have backups just in case. That would give you different disc id's. Just a thought.

Because they paid the same ammount for DVDP that you did. BTW when something is changed in DVDP the change affects every users and not just those who use the database. Last time I check our comments on a new beta or special request or the help we give in the technical forum are always welcome.

It was a simple ?. I was just wondering why people (More than you have stated they don't use the database). I thought the reason to purchase DVDP was for the database system. That's why I purchased it, not for funny pics, plug-ins or to know what DVD or BD people have bought. They are part of DVDP but I don't use them, so I don't visit those forums.

My answer wasn't a negative or aggressive one ateo, sorry if that sound like it to you as it wasn't my intention at all. I just tried to explain to you why I post, read and frequent the forum.

It's the same reason why I purchased DVDP or, to be more precise, because it use an independent database system. I'm kind of picky on the little details and I prefer to pass hours creating my profile than trusting someone I don't know (not because they are wrong, but because it isn't done my way).

DVDP also have two other big positive for me : I can track what I watch and via phpdvdp the online look is great.
