I was thinking a subforum that contains the threads that are currently stickied. Not a place where requests or other things would end up. Just the official threads that are currently stickied. However, I like Tom's idea better. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

| Posted: | | | | I have been thinking about this and have a proposal.
I propose to carve out plugin threads into a subforum, by author, by request.
Personally, I would even be willing to pay a small subscription fee to Invelos for this service.
Here is how it would work:
- A sticky such as "mediadogg's Plugins" would replace all the individual sticky "Annoucement" threads - Inside my sub-forum, each announcement thread would be a sticky - All other related threads would be moved in from the general Plugins Forum
I would be happy to review the Plugins forum and explicity identify all threads that relate to my plugins that could be moved.
Such a scheme would benefit all users by eliminating the clutter in the Plugins Forum, and I would like it because I have several new plugins in development - but nowhere to put them. Putting them on my own support site would be very inconvenient for both me and users.
Any thoughts on this? | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |

| Posted: | | | | That is very close to how we handle vendors on my Car forums.
The Vendor pays a small (in our case its much more business driven ) monthly fee
They get a slot on the vendors idle, and they get thier sub forum that they can control to some degree ( Sticky, close, unstick, etc )
Then they get a place away from general post to whore their wares. and answer feedback or issues again away from the general area.
But given how much "support" we get from Ken on the upkeep of the forums I wouldn't hold my breath on this :/
I think he really should look into port the system over to VB, and get a few more solid moderators on board.
anywho

| Posted: | | | | Yea, if any forum needs the "pinned" topics reduced now, it's that forum.
My original thought on this was just a single pinned with all of the titles within it, maybe a screenshot and small description. But other thoughts crossed my mind that made it seen like not such a good option.
This one sounds better. | | | If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

-R And others, a swift kick ... Only problem with a poke in the eye is that you may blind the person to your point of view ... doesn't help your cause. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. |
