I read it as you at first, but I think when I finally looked at the covers in question, it dawned on me.

I believe this:

Quote:
this code brings up two in the data base.. both Exactly the same .. One reads USA locality and the other is Canada locality .. Both  have identical front and rear scans heavily tested with French Canadian front logo and on rear jacket.  Now apart from my region 1 friends here who have the usa locality ,.. there is also the upc code of #024543-203094 for the USA locality .. trying to figure out here if we have two of the same in the database with US locality inadvertently marked down ..
MY version of the same looks like this,, and the rest of my library has all English jackets- this one in particular keeps the group apart ..

Means:

Quote:
UPC 024543203162 brings up two profiles, both exactly the same. One is a USA locality, the other is a Canadian. Both have identical front and rear scans with the French Canadian logo.

There is also the upc code of #024543-203094 for the USA locality (with the US cover) and I'm trying to figure out if the US locality of upc 024543-203162 is incorrect.

My version is the US locality of UPC 024543-203162, but it has the French cover.

looks like a contribtion was set back in march 2007 . when Invleos was grandfathering over all the Intervocative movie titles and lists ..
I've made my submission for canada/quebec locality on this title. once it is approved I'll PM eommen and see what he says- as it was his contribtion set for upc 024543-203162  in usa locality.. and he/she is from Europe . probably bought  the dvd from a canadian company and just submitted USA as lacality even though the USA versions never have dual language on cover ..

Then  I'll  see if that 024543-203162  can be removed ..

four years later ..I still have Questionable problems with this disc ..
Today I found out ( shearly by accident)  a major Flaw in this disc .. but then again... maybe not . .there fore this Post ..  I'll try and explain it thoroughly .. :

When I place this disc(s)  (either disc one or disc two) into my dvdrom trays ( I have two) into my PC to play it back on powerdvd10    the image comes up on my 16 x 9  - 20 in monitor as  'non anamorphic ' .. in other words a black box in the center of my monitor ... Ok fair  enough.. lets put the same disc into my normal Toshiba dvd player instead of Powerdvd software ..  it plays back as ananmorphic wide screen..
Okay maybe the  software is out of whack.,  I then put in three differant examples of other DVD's including Star  Wars 1 it played (as expected )  in full anamorphic widescreen .. then I tried a  Warner Bros disc ( Green Mile )  it played back fine  .. Then I shifted to the other DVD rom player of mine ( I have two in my PC tower both LG  One is Blue Ray combo  and the other is just regular dvd player . .again  the Star Wars III  played back in non anamorphic ...  Weird ? ! ,,

I never liked this third disc set of the trilogy which is the French Canadian Disc UPC # 024543-203162 (DVD) ..  as shown on Page one here ..

so ...  thought maybe this might be a good place here to reach out to any one who actually owns this disc  and check it on their parameters .. Meaning  Plays fine on dvd player  but not fine on DVDROM ...  No sense contacting Power DVD  or LG support as their players work fine with Other ananmorphic discs ....

Thankyou !  ( and as always-  widescreenforever  is my handle  )

^

I own that Canadian DVD (024543-203162) and it plays anamorphic (16x9) on everything I play it on including DVD-ROM. It's possible that yours might be  from a different pressing/run than mine.

PowerDVD10 (Ultra) had some problems with anamorphic DVDs. Some play just fine others are presented letterboxed. Strangely it would always present letterboxed DVDs correctly (Means: No bars on the sides for widescreen content). Obviously this is in some way related to the Blu-ray playback.

The problem disappeared with version 12.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?
