| Posted: | | | | bit surprised at all the answers here here to go with NTSC.. Isn't Norway a PAL country such as France , England and the rest of Europe?? Did anyone read the link I provided? i.e. (amongst others) - The frame rate conversion actually results in a loss of temporal resolution, as PAL has a lower frame rate than NTSC. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. If I remenber correctly, when I visited France, they used Secam and/or Mesecam? Norway is a PAL country though. Quote:

Yes, but if the source material is NTSC and your TV/Projector can handle it you wont get those "missing pixels" back by conversion. So, my choise of format would be native NTSC. |

But in a country of PAL playback I believe most retailers would sell the most appropriate playback for that region .. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. | Posted: | | | | Well, he said for NTSC output... PAL would be in native PAL50 anyway so not relevant for this discussion. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 | | | Last edited: by Nexus the Sixth |

| Posted: | | | | pal 60 is a hybrid system, where they force a 60hz refresh rate on a pal tv, so they don't have to bother converting the 30fps to 25fps stopping the dreaded telescene from 30>25fps from an image that was originally 24fps..
unless the dvd states pal 60 the disc it isn't going to make a lick of differene, talking from a blue ray POV I believe blue ray canned the ntsc vs pal debate since whether it is encoded pal or ntsc you will be watching the blue ray in standard film print configuration which is 24fps unless stated otherwise... |

| Posted: | | | | To make it short and sweet.. If your TV supports NTSC than have it output as NTSC and the picture will be as best as possible.. | | | Check out my Youtube channel under https://www.youtube.com/user/alittleolder |
