| Posted: | | | | Quoting Eserage: Quote: I Look forward to hear about your experince with ShopUSA (since I recommended it) So far everything goes smoothly. Not superfast, but I guess that is to be expected, since they do bulk shipments to reduce costs. Point of entry for Europe seems to be Sweden. I ordered it on 6 January. It arrived at shopusa on the 7th. They will ship on the 17th. Arrival the 18th in Sweden. The website lists a delivery on the 26th. So either they calculate a large safety margin, or they use a real slow service within Europe. Player price was 89.38€. The website states 58.36€ as shipping/import taxes, but I received an email stating they credited my visa for 92.17$, including an 8$ insurrance. I guess that is closer to 65€. So total price should be under 155€ for the player. This is about the same price I could find in the cheapest online store in the Benelux for the Region B model. So, thank you very much for the link. I'll keep you informed about the delivery. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

| Posted: | | | | Hello Eserage, I just wanted to thank you again. I just watched my first Region A BD on my freshly imported player. ShopUSA uses PNL for shipping in Europe. There weren't many updates on the PNL tracking site, but the shipment arrived exactly on the date mentioned on the ShopUSA site. Total price including all costs 153.5€. I needed to purchase a 220V --> 110V convertor since the Panasonic PSU isn't autoswitching. So, for a total of 160€, the player is operating in my Homecinema. The player arrived with firmware 1.9, so I updated it to the latest version 2.2. Compared to my Region B DMP-BD30, the DMPB-D60 is a lot faster. One slight disadvantage, since both players are the same brand, one remote rules them all . I'm not sure if I can change the frequency or channel on 1 of the devices. Need to google or check some forums for that one. All in all, an excellent recommendation | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

| Posted: | | | | I own a Curtis DVD1100UK BD Player and it has a remote hack to be able to make it DVD Region Free and BD Region specific - so you can change it to whatever region you need.
I picked it up for £99 so I would think it's still cheap, if it's available. |

| Posted: | | | | Well, the time is certainly right. 1 US $ = 0.71€
I purchased through Amazon.com, because they had free shipping on the player I wanted.
So, if you want to go for it, now is definitely the time. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

The manual region switching is a bit annoying. But if this had to be shipped to Belgium, I would have payed almost the same as I payed now. But very useful information | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

| Posted: | | | | Personally i own a EU and an US PS3 for my Blu-Ray's as well as my DVD's.
Also: Refering to an older post. The new PS3 Slims are actually capable of bitstreaming, so the machine keeps getting better!

| Posted: | | | | Remote control problem solved using a combination of google and RTFM.
The Panasonic BD-players can be configured to use one of 3 sets of IR codes. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

| Posted: | | | | Do they deliver outside the UK? Can't seem to find that info on their site. |

| Posted: | | | | Yes they do. However, the following line in their policy troubles me Non-UK/International Orders Only: DVDWorldUSA will not be held responsible for any items which are not delivered due to customs action or postal losses or theft, this is entirely at the customer's own risk. With a 30£ shipping fee for a player, you'd expect it to be insured. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for the info, Chris! I find their shipping rates a bit steep anyway - GBP 3.95 for a disc... | | | Last edited: by dee1959jay |

For a player, like Stephan said, you don't have the hassle, and it's probably faster. But for the player I bought, there is a difference of about 40-50€ and it was insured. So I think I'd prefer shopusa to the UK solution. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

I wonder if there will be any customs tax to be paid because after asking them via email they told me that their Players are shipped from the US | | | Check out my Youtube channel under https://www.youtube.com/user/alittleolder |
