| Posted: | | | | Six through 10 I think is my favourite part of the list. Such a fun little mix of movies, with 2001 and Star Wars butting up against each other, bookended by two major classics, and then a bit of gruesome blockbuster history in the form of Jaws thrown in for good measure.
Overall I really like the whole list, there's something there for everyone I think, and it has a nice mix of big crowd pleasers like Die Hard, and more "unconventional" (I know there's a better word, but I can't think of it) fare like Spirited Away.

| Posted: | | | | What interesting to me isn't the movies I picked that made the list, but how many that almost made my list that made the overall list (like 12 Angry Men, 7 Samurai, Big Lebowski, Once Upon a Time in the West, Alien, etc.). | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. | Posted: | | | | When I first saw this tread, Top 25 Films of All Time, I thought that is like picking which of your children you love the most.
Then I thought only 25, when I own every movie available on DVD of IMDB's top 250 and every other top list I've ever seen. I tried, first I tried movies by genre, then by decade, I just could not get a list down to 25.
In perusing my collection, for this list and with the idea of reducing my collection, one thing I did discover is that I have a lot of movies, DVDs, that I can not remember ever seeing or what they are about. I don't know whether the films were not that memorable or maybe I'm just getting old.
Hey, I don't have to buy any new DVDs for while, I can just watch some of those. The trouble is after a few minutes into the movies, I remember them. I guess they are the ones to dump.
When it comes to movies, music or books, if they have been around for awhile or I read a review, I just have to see what others seen in them.
Try picking the sexiest babes in filmdom, (don't let your wife catch you). Last night I was watching films from the Joan Collins Collection, I forgot how hot she was in her day. In Seven Thieves, a crime drama, made in 1959, she plays a stripper. According to the commentary part the routines were was cut, to much for those times. | | | We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own. Ineptocracy, You got to love it. Only one of my top25 selections have made it to 25. - 16. ("Clockwork Orange")
One more than me... and it's not as if my list was full of non-mainstream films! Now it's three in 25. - 6.: "Clockwork Orange", "2001: Space Odyssey", "Casablanca". I'm not complaining about the results of course, just goes to show that I may be more inclined to the "old" stuff than most. | | | Mika I hate people who love me, and they hate me. | Posted: | | | | Sorry for the delay in the middle of the day. I had to go meet with a client. I'll post the last three with an hours break in between each, meaning the number one movie will go up at 8 pm EST.

| Posted: | | | | Interesting list... many of the films not on my top 25 are actually quite enjoyable. (I have very few objections with any on our group list.) | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.
