Strange.

The "My Documents -> DVD Profiler -> CreditPhotos" folder you mentioned is empty here!

As it should be.  You have to place the pictures there, with proper naming, for the program to use them.  I am still trying to figure out where the 'Headshots A-Z' folder, you mentioned, comes from as I don't have one.

So where does the program put cast images if you just double click on the image box and download one from google.

It's not either of the locations we're talking about, from what I can tell.

There are two locations : if you choose a generic photo (used for all movies), it goes in the ACTORS. BLB file in the corresponding database folder (default by default), everything being encoded. If you choose custom photo, (only for one movie), it creates a subfolder in CreditPhotos, with the name of the UPC. In those folders, pictures are jpgs that you can access directly.

Vittra, thanks a bunch for the great instructions, very nice.  As you can see from the follow-up posts, there is still confusion.  While Vittras steps appear to work, as I can see images now, it doesn't work for the profiles, a point mentioned earlier in this thread, which is why manual adding is suggested.

I think part of the confusion as to 'where' things are, depends on the system one is using (ie XP, Vista, etc.).  For me, Surfeur's decription fits -- we must both have Vista    The images in the Document/DVD Profiler/Databases/Images folder are the DVD box cover images.  The program files (x86)/DVD Profiler/Database Templates contains the 'people' pictures (ie Actors.BLB, as Surfeur describes - and it's encoded....ya can't do much with it).

This is why I felt it is so confusing

The programmers at Invelos just needs to provide the 'hooks' and allow us to put the 'people' pictures in one place (ie creditphotos) for a common solution the works for profiles and everywhere.

I have Vista and all my cast photos are in one place...'Documents->DVD Profiler->CreditPhotos'.  For me, this is the easiest way because all I have to do is find the image I want, usually using google, right click and 'save as' into that directory.  I don't even have to have profiler open for this to work.  Once I have done that, the program automatically displays them for that actor in the profile.

Hey, Mad, sounds great!  I just have one question.....there are literally thousands of cast photos out there.  So, if I were to start with the collection posted in this forum or from some other source, are they formated right to load right into the CreditPhotos folder?  I ask because I see instructions that suggest some importing through the DVD Profiler software.

I sure don't want to start googling every cast member to get the pics for my very small 300 DVD collection.

Thanks again!

If you import the collection posted in this forum, unless I am missing something, they will be added to the profile and encoded in to the appropriate file.

annoyingly, I did use to have all the photos external to DVD profiler and used a plugin to pick them up into the application. Then Ken introduced having the cast photos inside the program - so I had to import them all.

Now of course the external option is back there as an option but I have no method of exporting the cast photos so that these can be stored externally.

Sod has ruled again..

I just tried Vittra's method....exquisitely good.  Thank you for your time in putting all those instructions in writing.  Easy to follow; works very nicely.
