Picked ST4 .., but ST6 credit roll with on screen 'signatures' brought tears to my eyes..,  as it would be last time all  of them would be together ..
In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

Haven't seen the new one.  Still have ambivalent feelings.  Have heard it is good.  Will probably watch it when it comes out on DVD.

I had the same feelings...I figured I'd either hate it because it totally discounted the original ones or I'd hate it because of the new people in it.  Too many people and reviews gave it glowing remarks for me to think I'd like it.  I tend to like the movies that get bad reviews.

Went to see it anyway, someone else wanted to go and I went with, and really, really enjoyed it.  It was definitely a leap of faith for me, I was disappointed that more of the old crowd wasn't at least invited for cameos, but yeah, it was worth seeing.

My favorite is Voyage Home.

Comedy fans tend to favor that one.

Which makes it a bit strange - I'm not generally a comedy fan (drama outnumbers its nearest competitors in my collection by over 250, and those nearest competitors are anime & sci-fi - comedy takes fifth behind documentaries, not even making the superfecta).  Nonetheless, Voyage Home is my favorite.

(If I include my wish list, drama runs away by over 550...)
If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.

The 2009 DVD release this November of the newest Star Trek has been reported by Variety-
Variety reports that special packaging for the movie's DVD and BluRay release will offer something called "Augmented Reality" that, when used in conjunction with a webcam, will transport you to the final frontier.

Difficult question, I picked "First Contact", for the way it links with the entire universe, and like others, I like the Borg.

It's actually easier to say which I like the least, and that's V, X and VII

I picked 'The Voyage Home', but 'Wrath of Khan' runs a very close second.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.
