I just contributed this yesterday. In my opinion, the entire overview is printed in Bold. Mostly the text is white, some text is black, and some text is black + italic. I entered the black text as bold, and black + italic text as bold + italic.
Before you judge, please check the backcover. I believe this must be verified case by case.
Regards I don't see any of it as bold. It looks like a fairly normal font to me. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

| Posted: | | | | As I'm one of the voters, you already know that I fully agree with you that they are not bold. Looking at the no votes, one of them actually has "noy bold". So I'm not sure if they've voted in the right place. A different colour should not in my opinion automatically equal bold. As for allowing colours in overviews, only if we also allow different background colours as well |

Regards I would as you, enter the italic as italic, and the black as bold. |

Regards I've looked at the back & in my opinion, the black text is no "heavier" than the white so should not be entered as bold. |

Great. Now Ken needs to add color tags to the overview
In my local, I already have coloured text in some of my overviews....and AW is one of them ; even so the font does not look "bold" to me, therefore I must agree with The Martian..... | | | Chris | | | Last edited: by Mole |

| Posted: | | | | Normally the answer would be no but since DVDP is a two color system the how do you propose we indicate a different color. That is why bold in place of a third color is a great idea. |

That is why bold in place of a third color is a great idea. It may be a great idea, but it isn't an idea based on the rules. The rules are fairly clear..."Use the Bold and/or Italic features for any words in the overview that are bold and/or italic as needed to match the case." While I understand the desire to indicate differently colored text, the rules do not allow for it. As Skip indicates, colored text must be entered as normal text. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | And quite frankly I don't want to see colored text. I can just the arguments you people would come up. Is it pink or red? What shade of yellow is it. No thanks.

| Posted: | | | | I have two question.
1. What is the purpose of making some text bold?
2. What is the purpose of making some text colored?
For me the answers to both questions are the same, to emphasize a word or phrase.
Just two ways of doing the same thing.
IMO, if you do not enter color as bold you are loosing information from the overview.

Jim Why not just make colored text it italic instead of bold? If the purpose is to highlight that is just as good an arbitrary option. No one wrapped single quotes around colored text prior to us getting real bold/italics. Why should bold= color now? To substitute bold for coloring of text just confuses correct usage of bold. Unicus got the right answer IMO. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

| Posted: | | | | Colored text might be highlighted, or it might be an attempt at artistic interpretation. What ever reason, there is no reason for us to track that "data" unless and until Ken decides to colorize our overviews in the program. If a person is all that concerned if a word is colored, there is a place to see that: the cover scan. | | | Kevin |
