The reboot didn't work, but I'm going to uninstall the program and reinstall just to reboot straight after this time.

Perhaps an auto-restart after install should be built into the next installer?

My system is XP pro and I use F Secure for firewall/virus.. Every one of the updates that have come down the pipe for upgrading to another build have caused my firewall program to bring up a security screen asking me if I want to accept the 'threat' or not .. there was also a small button on the left corner that requires a tick if you NEVER want to see this message again (for this build that is) .. By checking off that box I never had another warning come up.

FYI:  I'm still running 3.5.0 but you might want to try using AVG 8 for anti-virus, and Commodo or the old Sygate Pro firewall.  Sygate was bought by Symantec several years ago, but I still run it on three machines because it is bulletproof.  Commodo is free, and does a good job as well.  Bottom line is that they all work flawlessly with Profiler.

rebooting didn't work for me either.  I even used Revo Uninstaller to remove all traces of the program in the registry and the install folder, then rebooted.  I then installed the latest Profiler version, rebooted again without starting the program.  After this reboot I ran Profiler and it still locks up.  I found my install file for 2.5.0 build 1240 and that works fine.  So I am sticking with this version until someone can figure out what is going on with the lockup issues.  Thanks!

When running version 3.5, what plugins are listed under Tools->Plugins?

I don't think plug-ins are the answer since I get lock ups and I don't use them...

For anyone experiencing this issue, try starting Windows in Safe Mode and let me know whether the program hangs.

I have found that by using the COMODO firewall and making DVD Profiler a trusted application, that it works fine.
