I have administrator rights on the PC.

Did you explicitly change to admin rights?
Other than WindowsXP Vista doesn't automatically install an admin account as main account.
The main account usually is something that's best called "main user", means you are allowed to do almost as much as an admin, but there are some restrictions, one of them is to access the personal data (My documents) of other accounts.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Giga Wizard:  I was just shortening the path with the C:\... and it is valid.  I have administrator rights on the PC.  I has been accessed from multiple profiles on the computer.

  • if that path is c:\Program Files\... the program data are read only.

  • This is not the path.  It is in a public folder area so that multiple users can access the collection.
