You cannot remove uncredited cast just because you don't know if it is right or not.

Isn't that what I just said?

I'm not disagreeing with what you're saying, I'm just stating that this will keep lots of bad information in the database.

Not at all. If you can prove it is bad information, you can remove it. If you can't prove it is bad information - then how do you know it is bad information?

That's the catch with much of the Uncredited.  How do you prove someone isn't there? (That is prove a negative.)

I've tried it with a short list of Uncredited (for Hoosiers).  I searched hard for any proof they were in the film and found nothing other than obviously IMDb-related info which i disqualified for being the obvious original source.

Before you can prove it was bad information you have to prove there is some (valid) information.  That can be hard.  We will be stuck with unprovable Uncredited for a long time.

But we digress.
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

To be honest, that would be more than enough proof for me to remove them. If you've written something like that in your notes, then it would be up to the "no" voters to prove that you're wrong - ie. provide proof.

Hey there,

I am right now submitting an update for the Legend DVD. I got 38 YES and 2 NO.

The NO vote is NOT relating to the two things I have changed (Overview to match 3.5 rules, Foldout added to "other features").

It is about an isolated score which is in the "other features", which I haven't added there.

My question is now.
Should a vote only relate to the stuff the contributor submitted (which i think is the only way keeping this real) or is the contributor responsible for a mistake that some other user submitted a long time ago ?
if that is so, I think we are in trouble
That would mean I have to recheck everything that was submitted from everybody concerning the DVD.

Looking for answers here

cheers
Donnie

I know what you are asking about as it happened to me just last week.,
I submitted one change for 2001 Space Odyssey, in which I changed Douglas Rain from a role credited on Screen as Hal 9000 ..,,,  to just a voice only box 'ticked on ..
Well ....little did I know that in the cast section was a name Frank Miller ( mission controller )  and his birthday or YoB  was marked as 1957 ( this would then be the Frank Miller from Sin City fame.)
Of course this 1968 film credit of Frank Miller who was a one hit wonder type of role..,and couldn't possibly be only 13years old.,, SO  and it was up to ME, to go and change this and remove the YoB ..

So yes I agree to your opening post here,    but will also say when duty calls- and others suspect you of  submitting 'wrong data'  from a previous contribution it is up to you to just delete  the wrong, or,, remove the wrong..,,  or change the wrong.. It will not go away on its own..

IMOHO  as always.......
In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

Well,

I agree that the contributor should check on the section he is contributing, but not on the whole DVD.
This keeps things fair and doable

cheers

Except when the errors in the section are disputed! See my previous posting about the lose-lose situation.

Yes, of course, I would only correct an error when I am absolutely sure it is an error

Please include the sources for your changes in the contribution notes, especially for cast and crew additions."
