One thing I've noticed as I look through profiles of DVDs I have is that there's a lot of wrong information and the only contributor was someone doing a pre-release profile and never corrected it when the DVD was released. To be fair I do a lot of pre-release profiles (without cast/crew and other unverifyables) but often don't make a purchase until 6 months or more after the release so that seems a pretty good reason not to do an update on release... I much prefer after a release to let someonewith the disc actually make any corrections since online data may still be wrong (if it was originally) and so I think post-release it's far better to do updates only if you have the disc to check. FWIW on another subject in this thread, I have no problem whatsoever voting on things in my wishlist so long as they are verifyable without having the dicsc. I probably wouldn't vote on cast/crew changes but I see no problem in voting when someone incorrectly changes the overview of a UK R2 disc to Spanish, or uploads a similar scan to that alreasy in the Db but of better quality. | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

If you have ever seen any of my pre-release Profiles they are indeed very limted. But to eliminate Actors and crew seems excessive. Roles I would agree with. But for example The Dark Knight, I can tell you without seeing the credits, that Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Maggie Gyllenhal, Gary Oldman, Aaron Eckhart, Michael caine and Morgan Freeman had prominent roles in the film. They may have to be re-ordered and of course role data will need to be filled in once we have the disc in hand, but basic cast data info is not terribly difficult.
Pre-release data is VERY important BTW. Even though from time to time the release dates turns into a moving target.
Don't ask me who is in the new Star trek beyond Leonard Nimoy.
Skip FYI: the guy playing young Spock in the new Trek movie is the same guy who is currently playing Silar on Heroes. His name escapes me at the moment, but I think it was a good choice as he bears a striking resemblance to Leonard Nimoy in a young version, and he's a good actor. | | | John

You obviously didn't read the whole thread - I already told Skip it was Zachary Quinto. |
