The Party Pack and new patch are now available.  I'm kind of surprised that the Party Pack is $9.99.  I expected it to be cheaper.  Not a big deal since I probably won't be getting it, but it makes me wonder what the island will cost.

Not getting the Party Pack either. I understand it's local only (which makes sense) and I hae no one here who'll play with me.

I think $9.99 is what I expected and I also expect the island to be the same. I guess for the island I'd be willing to go as high as $14.99... The legendary cars however...? I'd love to have them (at least 1 or two) but that really depends on the price. Based on other stuff I'd assume $1.49 per car and $4.99 for the set? It shouldn't really be more than that...

Also, they're announcing a new add-on tomorrow.  Rumors are that it's something police related.

The rumors are based on screenshots from the new menus... I understand an older game had police pursuit in it and the rumor is that they will add that into Paradise.

I played with the new patch last night.  My overall impression is that it's not really that big a change.

It is easier to see at night.  The smashes, super jumps and billboards do stand out much better, but since I already have them, it's not that big a deal.  I might have to start a new game to get a better impression.  I didn't notice a huge improvement during the day, but it's there.

I didn't notice a difference in Stunt Run except for a new bug.  I was doing an online stunt run and crashed with about 300 points.  Tried to start up again, but I couldn't get a new run started.  So I finished with 300 points because nothing else counted.  Had the same thing happen later, but it let me start a new run and earn more points.  Didn't notice the slower timer.

Didn't really notice a change in the speed of my car.  But I'm playing with one you get really late in the game.  It's supposed to have been just the earlier cars that have changed.  I've heard lots of people complaining on other sites about how they've changed the stats on all the cars.  But I think it's just them changing the scale.  So my car looks like it's slower now according to the stats, but I think the speed hasn't changed.  Then they can add even faster cars later.  I have head the early cars have a noticeable change, but I've not tried it myself.

The auto barrel roll thing didn't seem to be a big deal.  And was actually nice during stunt runs.

Couldn't get the new in game browser to work yet.  The store is useless at this point since there's nothing I want to buy, but I guess the concept is cool.

Nice, Cops and Robbers should be fun.

One thing I want to bring up.  On Criterion's Site under coming soon there is a Premium Pack TBA.  I'm wondering if that pack is going to include everything and give you a discount?  It could be a nice way to get everything for a good price, even the things that you might not really want (like the Party Pack).

Mark, I totally forgot about them making it easier to see at night and about the barrel roll assist.  Good to hear that the night doesn't suck as much and the barrel roll assist doesn't sound like it is a problem.  It actually sounds like it will make doing challenges easier when you have a new player.  I did drive the Calvary but didn't really notice a difference.  Of course I always thought that car was slow after driving the GT Concept for a while.

Ok.  I was just saying cause they hadn't updated that section yet.  Seems kind of unfair to Xbox 360 users who do not have the in game browser like PS3 and PC users do.  I wish they would update the website to give some more info about it.  I was playing last night and somebody said what makes it different from marked man?  I'm guessing one person will start as the Cop and when you take out a Robber they become a Cop so that you are all eventually going after one person.  That is how it was done in Midtown Madness 3 playing Cops & Robbers online.  I enjoyed that, beating people in a Mini Cooper when they were using really fast cars  They hated me for that.

I played some more over the weekend.  I have to say the changes to the graphics are nice.  Subtle, but noticeable.  Everything seems a little more vibrant during the daytime.

I wish there was a way to turn off the auto barrel roll thing, but it's not the end of the world.  I just need to adjust my style of playing.

Finally, I did a bunch of online stunt runs.  Got 6+ million once and got beat by a woman who had 7+ million! That was actually kind of cool to find a female who's a great player.  Then the next one I got 10+ million.  New record for me.  I've never been able to break 10 million before (and haven't tried too hard in months).  It was a fun evening.

Congratulations on your new record Mark.  I agree that the changes to the graphics do make everything more vibrant during the day time.  The colors look brighter and seem to pop out more.

Haven't played much with the update yet (busy finishing Dead Space).

Night now looks like there is an extremely strong full moon "shining", which is kinda o.k.; before was really too dark, although they may have overdone a little.

As for the barrel rolls, it certainly is a help for me. I always had big troubles before (admittedly, I was simply not aware that you could stop the roll with the left stick ), so it's better now. If targetting 2x or more we'll just have to make ita habit to pull/push the stick once we hit the ramp.

I am now actively looking forward to the other premium content. (also considering to buy the PSN version so that it's easier to quickly have a spin around Paradise City without the need to load the disc).

The Legendary Cars come out on Thursday and the prices have been announced.

88 Special: $3.99/€3.99/£3.19
Manhattan Spirit: $1.99/€1.99/£1.59
Cavalry Bootlegger: $1.99/€1.99/£1.59
GT Nighthawk: $1.99/€1.99/£1.59

Or you can buy The Legendary Cars Collection for $7.99/€7.99/£7.99 which would give you all the cars for $1.97/€1.97/£0.03 cheaper.  (Man it seems like the pound isn't getting all that much of a break).

I personally think $7.99 is not bad for the 4 new cars and think it is a better deal than the Party Pack.

Yeah, I might just pick up the entire pack.  We've gotten so much good content for free already that I don't mind that much.  Really, it's Big Surf Island making the decision for me.  I still love the game, but new cars aren't enough.  But I know I'll be playing a LOT more when the island gets here, so some new cars could be fun to go with it.

Yeah, I am definitely looking forward to Big Surf Island also.  I really hope that they price it fairly.  I thought the Party Pack was a little bit more than it should have been (considering what I've heard about it).  But after seeing the prices for these cars, I think that they will hopefully price the Island fairly.

But yeah, the Island is probably definitely going to get a lot of people back on, especially if they add trophies specific to the Island.

I cannot wait for these cars!

Who'd a thought when this game was released that you'd be able to drive:

Ecto-1 from "Ghostbusters"

or

KITT from "Knight Rider"

or

The Flying Delorian from "Back to the Future 2"

or

The Genral Lee from "The Dukes of Hazzard"

okay, the cars have been changed a bit, but you know where the ideas came from. I will own these cars this Thursday!

It's nice to see a savings by purchasing the pack, it basically makes all the cars $1.99 each.

I feel they are slightly overpriced   However, same to you guys I a) feel Criterion deserves it (which probably was their plan all along, to make us feel pity and buy at whatever price they charge ) and b) also see myself playing more again once the island is released (I jumped in last weekend after quite some absence and ended up playing several hours).

Isn't there even a few specific trophies for the Legendary Cars...?
