I believe that color-status is a significant part of a film and should be considered along with many of the other things that are part of the master database.
BTW, not meaning to hijack this suggestion, one other thing that warrants its own field IMO is a check box for silent films. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole)

Also, where does sepia fall in all this?
As has been stated before, it's a popular, recurring idea, but one that isn't without the risk of stirring up arguments in a few odd cases. Although, I think I have a few titles that have the colorized version with the original black and white version. Silent movies on DVD.
