I'm with the rest of you (well, almost all of you)... If the measured ratio is of by just 0.01 or 0.02 from one of the existing ratios in the program, go with the existing one... Only exceptions I can think of right now is (AFAIR) a profile that claims to be 2:35 on the cover, but when measured, it is 2.39 - this is entered in the profile as 2.40, and IMHO, so it should be. Also the Mythbusters Season 1 box - the box claims the ratio to be 1.56 - and it actually is! This should then obviously be entered as such, as the nearest existing ratio is of by 0.10 (1.66 is in the program)... | | | The future is here. It's just not widely distributed yet. | Posted: | | | | I would say go with industry standards EXCEPT where the Rule "Use the Video specified on the DVD Cover unless you can verify there is a discrepancy between that and the actual Video included on the disc." overrides it... it's a Rule after all.
eg If the box says 2.38:1 then I would use that (as I can't veryify it as different with that amount of margin) but if the box says 2.40:1 and it's measured as 2.38:1 I would leave it as 2.40. | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |
