It's a user-built database, if a Profile has not been created by some other user, then it falls to you to do so for either yourself or to Contribute. If you want to Contribute the data, make sure that you have followed the Rulkes and provide thorough notes. Welcome to the club. Like tweeter says Bonus CDs cannot be entered other than as a Feature.

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for the help. I understand that if it's not added, then it should be by myself or someone else. My problem though is that I can't submit it by Disc ID because the Disc ID already points to the box set. So when I put the disc in the DVD drive, the program asks me to add the set into my collection (which it has already done) and doesn't give me the option to create a profile. | | | What James Knows HorrorTalk |

Check the parent profile for the box set to see if it is identified by UPC or Disc ID. If the parent is using the Disc ID, then change it to the actual UPC for that box set. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

Add the individual disc-id profile(s) to the online. add these individual disc-id profiles to the box set section of the dvd box profile. And contribute the dvd box profile (and please refer to the disc-id's what those are (season 1 disc 1, title of movie, ...) So other users know what title they have to look for. Check the parent profile for the box set to see if it is identified by UPC or Disc ID. If the parent is using the Disc ID, then change it to the actual UPC for that box set. The parent profile contains the Disc IDs for the discs in the set, which is why it's forcing me to add the parent profile and not giving me the option to create a profile for the separate discs. So should I edit the parent profile to remove these disc IDs that have already been inputted and just not contribute it? I don't see how that would work. (Thank you for the help and patience here, by the way! It is greatly appreciated.) | | | What James Knows HorrorTalk |

| Posted: | | | | If what you are attempting to do is create new child profiles that don't currently exist in the Invelos database for this box set then remove the Disc IDs from the parent, insert the first Disc in your DVD-ROM drive, add it by Disc ID unchecking "Download Profile from Invelos" at the bottom of the "Add DVDs to Owned" checkbox and add it to your collection. You can then assign it to the parent profile by editing the parent's Box Set Contents section. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | normaly when you contributed a dvd box like tv series and do not make the individual disc profiles the disc id goes in to the Discs section of the profile. If however you make the individual disc profiles and contribute those online. The disc id's should be removed in the disc section and you should add the individual disc profiles in the Box set contents. 2 reasons for that. 1) The individual disc profile now has the disc-id and not the dvd box. 2) If you use the computer and you put the dvd in the drive it should come up with the related disc and not the dvd box. The selected individual disc profile brings up the dvd box.
+ DVD Box - disc 1 - disc 2 <- selected disc - disc 3
do mention in the contribution note of the dvd box what you done, so other users will know what is going on. | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. On box sets i agree. Your post mentioned "season 1 disc 1" as an example and is indicative of a TV series. I was pointing out that TV Series child profiles are optional and the parent should retain the Disc IDs (at least on line). | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

| Posted: | | | | Gotcha. Thanks for the help everyone. I'm going to give it a whirl later on.
To clarify, I'll be editing the box set profiles (removing the disc IDs) and then creating profiles for the discs from the box sets. Once those are creating, I'll have that info linked to the parent profile. I think I got it. I stress the word "think" as I'm sure I'll have another question in there.
Thanks again! | | | What James Knows HorrorTalk |

| Posted: | | | | You don't have to remove the Disc ID's from the Parent profile to create a Child profile. You could always just goto Add DVD, click on add by Disc ID, make sure that the down load from Invelos is de-ticked, manually add the title then just add the disc to your collection, I have done this myself in the past to create Child Profiles.
Or another way, create "Manual Profiles" for the required disc's (ie 4 disc set - create 4 manual disc id's) once they are added to your collection put the relevant disc into the computer DVD draw high light the required manually created Profile and "Change EAN/UPC" for each disc in turn.

Your post mentioned "season 1 disc 1" as an example and is indicative of a TV series. I was pointing out that TV Series child profiles are optional and the parent should retain the Disc IDs (at least on line). When you add the individual disc profiles online and move the disc-id from disc to dvd box set, the disc-id is still retained in the box set, If you leave the disc id in the discs section of the dvdbox the box will always come up and not the disc itself. | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. Start DVD Profiler. From the Menu click on DVD>Add to Collection. In the Add DVDs to Owned window select the Add Inserted Disc tab. Insert the first disc of the Box Set in your DVD-ROM drive. If DVDP recognizes the disc the title will appear in the title field. Click on Add DVD and the Personalize DVD window will open. Add your personalized info and click OK. Do this for all the discs in the Box Set. Once you've added all the discs click on Add Now to Owned.
Now locate your Box Set parent profile and double-click the title to enter Edit mode. Select Box Set Contents on the left side of the edit screen and search at the bottom for the titles that you just entered and assign them to the parent profile.
Edit: Also, when you insert a disc and DVD Profiler doesn't recognize it, a message box will pop up asking if you wish to add it manually to your collection. Clicking yes will open the Add DVDs to Owned window and you can select the Add Inserted Disc tab then. Thanks 8ball, you are indeed on the ball. Instructions were perfect, worked exactly as you indicated. The only drag is that the count is now off by one as it considers the Box Set a DVD. But that's ok, I can handle that. Thanks for the reply. DD. |
