| Posted: | | | | I have contributed hundreds of crew lists without Supervising Producers, because that has been the convention since the new credits were implemented. I'm definitely not going to update all these lists because a small group of users all of a sudden get the feeling that this convention should be changed. An update of the rules would be a different thing, of course. | | | Michael |

Simple question: do we enter someone who's credited as 'supervising producer' as 'producer' (the same way we enter a 'supervising art director' as 'art director'), or don't we? Your introducing post is partly wrong. A "Supervising Producer" cannot be entered "the same way" as a "Supervising Art Director". Why not? Because the Supervising Art Director is mentionend in the spreadsheet and the Supervising Producer is not. But it's still a simple question although the result (up to now) shows that there might not be a simple answer. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! I decided not to change the poll or to add any comments. I've said enough in the original thread here. | | | ...James

I agree, I can't remember ever having entered a Supervising Producer, and I don't fancy going back over all the profiles I've done either. |

You have, not surprisingly, misinterpreted the PGA definitions. The Supervising is clearly even according to the PGA not the HEAD Producer.
Skip Please explain the career progression of Merri D. Howard whose Bio at StarTrek.com shows that over the years she progressed (or in other words was promoted) from Associate Producer to Producer to Supervising Producer. She is only one such example. I can cite others that support my position that a Supervising Producer "supervises" Producers, All we have from you is hearsay evidence from un-named Hollywood executives who are your intimate friends! | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |

I'm not Skip, but looking at the PGA rules, she could have moved from Produer to Supervising Producer simply by acting as a producer on the show for two years: Quote: Having received the credit of Producer or "Produced By" for no less than two full seasons of this or other series episodes that have been nationally telecast She may or may not actually supervise or produce anything presently; she just gets the credit for time served. | | | "This movie has warped my fragile little mind." |

Skip It is only irrelevant because it disproves your assertion that a Supervising Producer is sub-ordinate to a Producer. | | | Hal |

She may or may not actually supervise or produce anything presently; she just gets the credit for time served. So it's a "retired in place" position. You get paid big bucks for doing nothing. Where do I sign up? | | | Hal |

You don't even understand why irt s irrelevant. Merri Howard workedb on a TELEVISiON series. I have previously said that i am looking at it from a from viewpoint and from that view point my comments are correct. The PGA has TWO different sets of rules as regards SP, and you know how I feel about that idea. According to the PGA IF the subject is fim SP does not officially exist, IF we are talking about television then there are rules about regarding SP. Perhaps you are interested in tracking the career progression of some Producer or other, I would suggest that Profiler is not the correct tool to do that with. This simply has become the theater of the absurd. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

I have only ever entered this credit for TV series. | | | Hal |

| Posted: | | | | So, tell me, Hal, why are you simply copying UNDOCUMENTED (uncredited) for NEW releases of oler titles, Ken has said NO to this. we have to document (uncredited) on new releases. I don't require answer the question is rhetorical in nature. I amy just have to Contribute just to undo the damage you are causing by refusing to follow ken's wishes.

| Posted: | | | | I always enter SP as Producer. I'm sure I remember the rules committee making a statement to the fact that the rules should have mentioned Supervisiing Producer in the same way that Supervising Art Producer is mentioned and that is was an error on the part of Invelos that resulted in this being omitted in the rules. I also remember querying this with certain prominent members of the community who also assured me that SP should be added. Much like others here who don't want to go over their profiles adding SP, I don't want to go over them removing SP either! |

| Posted: | | | | Sorry, Neill, that wasn't the discussion. There is a difference in concept between Sp and SAP, SSE or SE, TOTALLY different. yes they share the same word, but the premises are different. But fear not, I will be watching all Contribution much more closely for SP entries and i will be only too happy to vote No to same, or replace bnad data when it is found. You will note that bot the original poll and this poll also say NO to SP.
So if you if you are going to try and add SP data, up front or surreptitiously, I will vote NO!!!! And i suspect i will not be alone.
Tim you had NOTHING to do with the development or writing of the Rules, I will not play by YOUR interpetation of them since without any involvement you do not have any kind of informed opinion of same. Is that clear. I have had enough of you pretending to more than you do. You even started the previous poll at Inrevocative but you didn't like the results so you decided to ignore them, and those result were just about the same as this one, which you also don't like the results of.
