It's a bit complicated unfortunately. That's why I tried to be as specific about contributions when listing them.

As english is a bloody awkward language, typically "party" has more than one definition. In the case of sources of information, "party" refers to how many stages removed a person is from the original source. As the film is the source, that is 1st party; the distributor is 2nd party; and independent sources are 3rd party, as far as I'm aware you can't get 4th party.

However, when you look at legal documents (including licence agreements), "party" has another meaning. In this case it simply means "involved person", and the number simply refers to the order they are mentioned. As the software developer is normally mentioned first, they become 1st party; and as the user is usually mentioned next, they become 2nd party and so on. In this situation there is no limit as to how many parties there can be.
For example, in divorce papers the spouse asking for divorce would normally be 1st party, the other spouse would be 2nd party, the bit-on-the-side would be 3rd party, children would be 4th, 5th and so on, pets etc. basically any "involved person".

Hope this makes sense!

For DVD Profiler purposes, this is the proper definition.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

For questions in German you can always check the German DVD-Profiler forum

Thanks! That's great - something I always searched for!

This is an example of why it's useful to identify where you're from as part of your forum profile (you get a little flag of that country, like the US flag under my avatar).  People often feel a need to apologize for poor English but don't say what their native language is.  We have enough users world-wide that someone could probably help most questions like these -- if they knew what language the original poster spoke (or understood).  It is often hard to guess when all you have to go on is a username and an avatar.

may I just remind:
Rules Cast:
Quote:
If an actor is credited by name but does not have an associated role, you may use another source to identify the role. In each case, list Actor’s names and roles (when given) exactly as they are in the credits and in exactly the same order credited.

Make a clear statement at the beginning of your contribution notes what you are doing in this case.
I had contributions declined, reffering to 3rd party sources, due to communication error between me and screener.

Quote:
Guest Star missing roles only added after consulting these sites:
www.tv.com
www.tvguide.com

and if you follow the links, it go's where the information came from.
Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. Please include the sources for your changes in the contribution notes, especially for cast and crew additions.

On the other hand, I painfully experienced the disavantage to mention my country, being compared with famous criminals of the past of our history...
... and I'm not alone to have experienced such things from some users who consider those forums are their's.

That was all about your attitude, your COO was secondary. But, unfortunately, my friend, anarchy is well-known to France.            Without the COO, you would still have been an anarchist.

Skip,
why can't you just leave it.
There's enough damage done as it is.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?
