| Posted: | | | | Quoting Leiterfluid: Quote: You've only given us two options. What about:
1) Providing no roles at all (unless the credits do) This isn't why I was getting the 'no' votes so I didn't include it. To be honest, listing just the cast with no roles, didn't even cross my mind. What would be the point of doing that? Quote: 2) Providing only the most principal role for each voice actor and (additional voices) Again, this wasn't the reason for the 'no' votes. You and the other person voted 'no' because I listed the actors more than once. On several episodes, the prinicple roles don't fit on a single line so I would have needed to list them several times regardless. Quote: 3) Providing a separate credit for each role I am not sure what you mean by this one. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand. The Centauri learned this lesson once. We will teach it to them again. Though it take a thousand years, we will be free. - Citizen G'Kar | | | Last edited: by TheMadMartian |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting Ken Cole: Quote: The ideal source for role data is the credits of course. I agree, and it would make life so much easier if this was the case. Quote: If not listed in the credits, the ideal backup source is the film itself. This is not possible with animated features, which is why I use several different sources to identify the roles and only listed the roles where multible sites agreed. Quote: It is fully acceptable to list roles for only the major characters in this case. I have no problem with someone listing only the major characters...if that is all they want to do. I just want to make sure that it is 'o.k.' for someone to list more, should they want to do the extra work. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. When no roles are given I don't particularly like deciding what should or shouldn't be the roles names for these characters when there is no official source readily apparent. I'm much happier leaving them blank until something comes along. Quote:
Quote: 3) Providing a separate credit for each role I am not sure what you mean by this one. He means each role would get it's own entry in the cast list. So you would get: Billy West.......Fry Billy West.......Prof. Farnsworth Billy West.......Dr. Zoidberg and so on. Don't like it myself, but technically it is an option that is avaiable to us. | | | Last edited: by northbloke |

It can be difficult to make your role names not appear as if they came from IMDb, even if you have consulted several references. And having to consult several references is beyond the limit for some contributors. Many classic films are entered without role names currently. I've left them out and apparently so do other contributors. | | | ...James

He voted 'no' because I listed some of the actors more than once...which this option does as well. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. Just to clarify, this statement was made in reference to my Futurama audits. I understand there are situation where somone would leave them off but, I am doing a complete audit of the cast, adding dividers and credits for each episode. Since I am doing that, leaving out the roles didn't make any sense...which is why it never crossed my mind. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
