| Posted: | | | | Everybody that supported my scans should take the time to at least look at Max's scans. IMHO they are very good. Rory @Max, I broke my own rule about voting neutral when I have a similar scan up for concideration, I voted yes on yours. As I said they are very good. Rory *EDIT* I have always believed that this is not about personal credit, but a good database. Rory And I agree wholeheartedly Rory. It's never been personal...it's always about the data . I appreciate your comments...thank you. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | Both of you did great on the scans, I tried and won't waste time submitting as they are far inferior. I still can't decide who's front scan I like better (Max wins the back, although Rory's would be perfectly acceptable). |

| Posted: | | | | Can I just clarify the rules as they stand, I thought they said if the slip is reflective then use the identical Case? Not use the case or a decent scan of the reflective cover.
If, however, the Slipcase is reflective, and the inner cover art is identical, use the Keep Case art to scan, as it will give a better quality image. | | | Last edited: by Graveworm |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting Berak: Quote: Partly, yes, but mainly my point is that some users scan reflective covers nearly as good as others do the inner cover art, and in these instances (IMO) we should use these scans.. If a better scan of the reflective slip cover is available than the scan of the inner cover, we should of course use that scan. But if the covers are similar enough graphics and text wise and the scan of the inner cover is significantly better, then we should go for the inner cover scan. |

| Posted: | | | | I have to admit that I must not have read this rule properly, because I was under the impression that it read If, however, the Slipcase is reflective, and the inner cover art is identical, use the Keep Case art to scan, if it will give a better quality image.
But, as Graveworm points out, that's not what it says. So, if we are to follow the rules, we should always scan the inner case if the slipcase is reflective and the cover art is identical. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

I would actually prefer that especially the backcover scan is taken from whatever contains more information about the DVD, be that the inner or the outer cover. I personally find slip cover scans like the one for "Rendition" (only pictures and a few quotes) pretty useless.
And, yes, I'm aware that this is a personal preference, not covered by the rules, and that I can do it myself locally - doesn't help with DVDs I do *not* own and want to take a closer look at, though. | | | Matthias | | | Last edited: by goodguy |

You're quite right - I've always read it the same way as GSyren too. But there is no "if" there. However, as far as I'm aware this rule hasn't been changed since Intervocative times and scanning abilities have increased dramatically since then. Because of this I still wouldn't vote no on a good reflective scan, just because it was of the slip cover and not the keep case - I know that doesn't follow the letter of the rule, but I believe it follows the spirit. |

| Posted: | | | | I wist to thank everyone who has voted on my "The Mist" scans, I am withdrawing the in favor of 8ballMax's who's scans are better than mine. I encourge those who voted for to show Max the same support. His scan are worthy IMHO. Thanks again, Rory @Max Good work man.
