I was afraid for that. Luckely you can shed some light on the darkness of IMDB. Other sites are allso in the wrong: when the doctor who came up with lord of the rings. I did think there was something wrong. By the way some green potion got your way.

Just for your information:

If a movie is made in Europe or the USA it's most likely the British Sound Designer/Editor Mike Hopkins who worked on it, and if it's made in New Zealand it's most likely done by the New Zealander Michael Hopkins.

The British Mike Hopkins told me he worked (amongst many others) on movies such as Blade Runner, Superman and Octopussy.

You have just to phone him and ask his BY

Well I did and spoke more than 15 minutes (which cost me almost 12 euros) with him on the phone, and he informed me that the other Mike (which full name and most credited name is Michael) Hopkins who also works on Sound Crews, lives in New Zealand, did not worked on half of the movies that are mentioned on this page of the IMDb. So, I shall withdraw my LotR contributions because they are incorrect.

That, sir, is worthy of a gold star.

Unfortunately, I cannot give you one of those, so have a green arrow as a consolation prize.

Martin, you didn't happen to ask his birth year, did you?  Nice work in any event in going straight to the source.

Yes, I did ask it at the beginning of the conversation and he did not want to give it to me then and after the conversation got side tracked because of the other person and the reasons why I called him, I forgot to ask him again at the end of the conversation. But he took note of the information on IMDb and he told me he or his son wanted to correct that, because I was not the first that thought he and the person of New Zealand were the same guy (even Jerry Bruckheimer once called him).

All the LOTR are released. Could you verify in your database for Peter Jackson if his birthyear is in your local database? 1961, It was in the online database and I was made aware that I removed his birthyear with some contributions. So i'm currious is it now in all profiles?

They told me it was. I asked the user to document this. there should be a cinematographer Peter Jackson. (IMDB: Peter Jackson (II) (Cinematographer, "Hamish Macbeth" (1995)) I can't find nothing more.

I did some research, Hamish Macbeth has no credits, but a Touch of Frost has (for example: 5-050582-120028/ 7-391772-391445), it credits Peter Jackson, i downloaded this profile and now it links this Peter Jackson to Peter Jackson of LotR fame. I also found (in CLT) Topper Returns (082554-371225) a 1941 movie which credits a Peter Jackson in first name field only.

Unfortunately the CLT has 231 titles and 740 profiles for Peter Jackson so i would be quite a lot of work to go through them all. What would be the best course of action? Just add a new Peter Jackson with BY and update my Frighteners, Lotr and Heavenly Creature dvd's or id there an other solution possible.

Paul

a Peter Jackson also is credited in Jonathan Creek (9-789051-595178 for example)

I have the D.o.P./cinematographer Peter Jackson credited in series 1, 2, 11 and 12 of "A Touch of Frost". I remember trying very hard to find a birth year for him online, but I couldn't find it anywhere.

I found an obituary at this location: http://www.gbct.org/obit_peter_jackson.html

However, no birth year is mentioned in the obituary.
