If a profile needs to be unlocked, as it was in this case, it is a simple matter of asking for people to do it and telling them why. Yes, that works as long as the people who have locked the profile are still reading the forum and are aware of their locks. True enough, but there is a second alternative. I am sure that Ken can unlock a title on his end if he needs to. A simple PM to Gerri would probably work just as welll as a forum post. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand. The Centauri learned this lesson once. That maybe true but a title might as well have 7 or more locks, and I was notified by some users in the past that they removed their lock and the title was still locked down. | | | Martin Zuidervliet

| Posted: | | | | Very true, and as I recall we have a way to determine just how many locks have been thrown, though I don't recall what it is. I also recall a title that had something above the six locks, and it was still unlocked and the Contribution proceeded. <shrugs> Like I said I have confidence in our users to do what needs to be done.

| Posted: | | | | Since we now have the Credited As/Common name functionality, there should always be possible to contribute a cast/crew list without having to go to the forum to ask for it to be unlocked.
I really don't see the point of the locks any more. Back at IVS they had a function since all the no-paying users also could contribute. Back then, a cast list could also be finished. That's not the case any longer.
Have some faith in the users and the voting system. Don't use locks for cast and crew | | | The colour of her eyes, were the colour of insanity | | | Last edited: by reybr |

| Posted: | | | | I don't have that much faith, reybr, they can still muck tnings up, I know several users that have voted contrary to the Rules in the last 24 hours alone.A couple of knew they were doing so.

| Posted: | | | | Then why don't we just lock every single profile? People can still come here to request it to be unlocked. The fact is that the cast and crew list can never be deemed as complete. (Except for box set profiles) | | | The colour of her eyes, were the colour of insanity |

| Posted: | | | | Now that's a bold statement, reybr. There is not an infinite number of Cast or Crew, not is there an infinite number of possibilities. I could probably find any number of Profiles that not only can be deemed complete but are in fact complete. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here
