I meant the new reputation rating system, not the contribution voting.. | | | "Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men" - Douglas Bader "A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools." - Douglas Adams |

Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand. The Centauri learned this lesson once. We will teach it to them again. Ah sorry don't understand your sentence Yes I think Ken has said we have 3 days to change a vote, or maybe it was to edit a post... didn't really remember. Ken has added in the FAQ ( link) an entry for the reputation system but not with a lot of details about it. He has said in the post of the announcement forum that's to avoid people to find a fault to counter the system. As already said, abuse of the negative vote will be sanctionned by the admins and it's normal! | | | Regards Cyrille | | | Last edited: by Cyrille |

| Posted: | | | | Speaking of the "Rep. system", I was looking at my profile eariler today and it only shows one vote I posted for a post in a thread. Funny thing is, it's not a post I clicked, not even the same thread. I'll guess it's a "work in progress" and don't have anything to say bad about what post it said I voted for. EDIT: O.K., a couple other posts I clicked green/up for today just showed and are the right ones. I wasn't drunk last night so I have no idea about the other one. | | | Last edited: by bigdaddyhorse |

Well ... I can tell you this ...
The POTC only had the pre-release cover for front & back in the databaase.
There were numerous contributions for the correct front & rear covers ... BUT ... mine was the ONLY ONE that actually contained the slip cover that the DVD came in ...
That is why I am confused.
As for the Superbad one ... only Ray Charles would not have seen how much difference there was from mine to the one in the database.
This is what makes it so discouraging about trying to improve the database on here ... Mark,
At the time you submitted both of these, my scans were ahead of you. Both of my scans got approved. Your Superbad front is not as sharp as mine, which is now the current scan. Your POC scans look very red/pink to me ( you think that mine are too yellow ).
My guess is that once my scans were approved, yours were not a 'significant improvement'.
By the way, the votes on mine were 10-0 and 17-0.
pdf So let me get this right. Mark is unhappy because his scans that he submitted after mine (both of which he voted yes on) were declined after mine were approved. I try to add some background info and then I get a 'bad' vote for it? If I had called Mark a jerk or something then I could understand. But to get a bad vote for adding info to the thread is something that has me very confused.
pdf pdf256 ... if you did indeed get a bad vote in the reputation ... then that was definately uncalled for. I took no offense whatsoever for what you added to this topic. It helped explain to me why mine got declined. I do not know who would have done that ... but they can ... and should ... retract it. If he or anyone really gave you a negative rating for that post then that is clearly an abuse of the reputation system. All you did was explain the situation and how it came about. I hope there is a way to change or cancel the ratings otherwise they might be sorry they did that. Vega ... I can tell you without reservation that it WAS NOT ME (and I know you are not saying that it was definately me) who gave him a no vote. If you look above this answer you will see that I took absolutely no offense in his imput. I said it once and I will say it again ... whoever did give him a no vote ... SHOULD ... go back and retract it. You can do that. | | | Antec Nine Hundred case, 4GB A-Data DDR2 800 RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.66GHz, ASUS P5K-E/WIFI-AP MB, XFX GeForce 8600GT XXX 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 video card, ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT 2 Ball CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink, Seagate Barracuda 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s HDD, Zerodba 620W PSU, LITE-ON 20X DVD±R DVD with LightScribe SATA, Samsung CDDVDW SH-S203B SATA, Hanns-G HH281 28" monitor, Kodak ESP3250 printer, Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers, Windows 7 Professional |
