The equal and appropriate response is to wish the same of him, not specifically to call him unarmed. Your overreaching insults are noticed by everyone but you. You seem to have no sense of appropriate behavior. Your forum socialization skills are sadly lacking, as evidenced by your behavior in this thread (whose very existence insults both you and Hal). While I don't think demanding confinement for Skip is per se insulting, it is provoking enough to cause the reaction Hal was probably looking for to begin with. If not, well then you should really reconsider how far the two of you have gone in the past weeks and maybe reevaluate your perception (and Skip's as well) an certain aspects of your "discussions".
Calling Hal "witless" is taking this mess to another level, as has been seen numerous times before. It surely is insulting, but regarding the context and taking into account the events of the past weeks, I'd say Hal got what he knew was coming and what he in a way asked for.
IMO, both of you should stop placing blame on each other but rather take some time off of the forums, re-evaluate your personal behavior over the past weeks and maybe re-discover a way to communicate with each other in a civilized manner although you can't stand each other very much. | | | | Lutz |

Thanks, but for the record I bear no ill-will towards Hal nor anyone else. I am in fact on the record numerous times on this topic in all kinds of ways including in this very thread. I certainly would appreciate it personally if everyone to pay attention, I prefer laughter to combat, but when I am provoked...the answer is evident.

I think things have reached the point that whenever one of these two guys posts something (either Skip OR Hal), the other one thinks he has to jump in and criticize the other.
