| Posted: | | | | Quoting AESP_pres: Quote: OK I understand what you means. But do you try to make a screen capture ? I have sometimes the unreadable credit problem an with some image manipulation you get something almost readable. I tried a screen capture with MWsnap3, but I got a black square I guess I will sort that out with some other program. It also depends on the contrast with background while titles roll. After some more rolling back and forward and some more zooming in and out, I finally made up my mind: the last digit in the copyright year is a "3"! Still, databases say that that movie was released after 1973: 1974 or later. Ha, those *ooold* movies! Quote: P.S : Seventies movie are not really old. Just for the sake of discussion, where would you draw the line? My strictly personal feeling is, broadly speaking, "before 1980", before the IBM PC and before "Fame". "Star Wars" is "old", "The Empire Strikes Back" is "new"! That's extremely subjective, I know. I've checked out the Windows XP calendar: time started on 1/1/1980. The image is on the video layer of your display, you need to use the capture that is part of your DVD player software (PowerDVD, Nero Showtime, WinDVD, etc). As you have seen most of the time an external screen capture program just gives you a black box. pdf | | | Paul Francis San Juan Capistrano, CA, USA |

| Posted: | | | | The BEST answer for thaty Berak, is the Copyright data that is on every show. Then again it also depends precisely what production year means to a given user. For example: Principalphotography has begun on Star trek and is not scheduled to wrap until Februay, I think. But I guarantee the film will carry a Copyright date of 2008. We could get even more complex , there are movies in Production right now but not due for release until 2009 and 2010. My position has always been that Copyrihgt date is the best answer it is FILM data that is on the disc and it is easily obtainable by ALL users and no outside verification but....
