Please to explain the importance and why it such a big deal. We have two methods tomget titles into the Db. If one doesn't work, use the other one, if neither works...now wehave a problem. I am trying to understand, based on YOUR comments, your focus on UPC.

Maybe an example of a recent mainstream release will help. The June release of the Die Hard Collection came in 3 and 4 disc versions, different content (one contains an additional bonus DVD), different artwork on the front cover. The difference in the UPC is the "extra" characters the 4 disc version appends 50 to the UPC the 3 disc version appends 51. Since the 4 disc version was submitted first and accepted, it is the one in the online database. Is there a method currently to get the 3 disc boxset in the main database?
Recently I have also seen studios append digits to the UPC for re-releases, and to distinguish slip covers with different artwork. (I believe the "Sin City" slip covers used this method, although I haven't verified it yet. The Jessica Alba slip cover has 0003 appended to the UPC.) Another example is the Sweet Revenge Edition of John Tucker Must Die, the database version, UPC+00 has artwork similar to the keepcase cover, and version UPC+21 has completely different artwork.
