Yes, I've read about the legality.  You can omit the spines, but I just want the images to be bigger.  And some of the images are so incompetently handled by the contributer that they are filled with compression artifacts.  Yes, I do want to print these images; there are reasons for printing them other than pirating the discs, you know.  And yes, of course I know I can scan them myself, but do you know how long that would take me?  This is such a disappointment.

Your lack of knowledge is truly distressing.<heavy breathing>   You refer to compression artifacts being the fault of the Contributor, when in fact they are usually caused by compression algorithm used by Invelos. You want larger images, from Online I presume, larger images take more space, more space equals more storage capacity, which in turn equals MONEY. I agree with a coupole of other users who have suggested that you don't understand the program and its purpose. You can of course continue using the single most inaccurate database in the world (IMDb), if Profiler does not suit your particular needs you could also develop your own. I know of programs out there that will support your larger images, but they are very expensive, as one would expect to accomodate  the massive files for your image wishes. My own library, which uses extremely hi-res images is rapidly closing on 8 GB and mine are not the size images that you want, now factor your size in  and multiply it times 300,000+titles and you wind with probably Tens of Terra Bytes of storage, not at all practical at the level the Invelos operates at.

Reading your posts here...and the one where you suggest that the program be completely rewritten to suit your needs...I have come to the conclusion that you purchased the wrong software.

Ewwww... the Death of a Thousand Cuts!  Slish, slash, and Unicus is two blocks away before the victim even knows he's been cut!  Film at 11!

Oh, thanks for pointing that it is DVD Profiler that causes the compression artifacts!!  What a way to convince me how great this piece of garbage of beta software really is!!!

The scans for "The Interpreter" HD DVD are actually TWO FRONT covers; what a joke.

This beta software doesn't even tell you whether a film is in B/W or color (or both).  It sucks.

This app was never meant to give 600 dpi images as the app isn't designed to print covers.

90%+ of the time, the cover displayed in the app is displayed well under 100 dpi.

Don't be disappointed in the app, be disappointed in that you misunderstood what the app is for.

Your reading comprehension is lacking.  I said IDEALLY 600dpi would be great; I don't expect any software would be ideal.  But I DO expect that on a hi res pic at least I'm able to read the small prints on the back cover, so I don't have to go pull out the actual DVD to look at it.  And most of the times I CAN'T, so they're useless and might as well be low res.

See how I'm blowing holes in all your arguments?  Y'all have such caveman intelligence you should be in those Geico commercials.

You said you wanted the cover images for printing.  The images provided here are NOT intended for printing.  Thus a hole in your defense.

The database and the artwork are all user built and maintained.  So if there's something YOU don't like, you have the power to enhance it.

You are still assume incorrectly what this software is intended to do.  So thus, your comments about how much this program sucks is all in your incorrect interpretation of what the program provides.  Simple as that.

Then why are you hanging around if the program is so awful for you?   As B/W or Color, try using Tags, in fact tags will do a lot for you. Most everyone here will tell you that profiler is flat out the BEST software of it's type there is...without exception. How can i say this? I have tried every piece of software out there, and if there is a new one or one hiding in some little corner of the Web, I will try them to.

The compression is there since the images need to be compressed to fit on the server. Any covers you scan yourself can be stored at any resolution you want on your own PC. If I want a high resolution cover scan I just get out my dvd and well.. scan.

This is a user contributed database. Scan your covers and contribute (or wait for someone else to fix this).

My version does - I added tags to do this.

re-read the bit about having to use compression to store covers on the internet servers and that you can scan the covers yourself.

No, the joke here is obvously you, as you have no idea how DVD Profiler works.

Why would anyone read the small print on a DVD Cover? It's just legalese anyways.
Anything worth reading is readable on most of the covers in the database, e.g. Animatrix. If not, upload better ones.
And again, FRIGGIN UNDERSTAND HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS.

What exactly is this "small print" you want to read from the back cover? All info can be found somewhere else from the program. Back covers are usually full of misinfo anyway.
