| Posted: | | | | Well that was enjoyable, I'll glad I have given you all so much to talk about this Tuesday afternoon. But I must say, if you were to ban mentions of IMDB then you wouldn't be able to have any fun destroying the person that mentioned it. Clearly the Invelos forum is very fair and a true demoracy, unlike the world we live in today, so indeed I must resign my suggestion to reinstate IMDB feeds. But I am glad to see I wasn't the only one to vote for a reinstatement.
As a separate note I'd like to thank skipnet50 for PM'ing me direct about the issue, it was nice of you to think of me but I'm not into same sex relations! |

- Why can't we use IMDb Would be useless, look at the "Technical Support" Forum, the very first thread is "FAQ: How do I upgrade?" and yet there are 3 people today asking virtually the same question ... well, I think it's time for a feature request: no writing access to the forums until they read at least this thread. Are you saying that 40-50% of the actors do not have a birth year assigned, or are you saying that 40%-50% of the actors do have a wrong birth year assigned on IMDb? |

| Posted: | | | | Now what if we were to use IMDB for the info, instead of typing in all of the names and characters, but correct it along the way, is this exceptable? For example with the movie "Hook (1991)" Robin Williams' character is Peter Banning/Peter Pan according to the credits, but IMDB lists his character just as Peter Banning. Along as we correct the info and put in the right order, instead of typing all the info out, would that be okay? | | | We're on a mission from God.

I'm not contributing anymore as I'm not going to sit there and type every cast list for every episode of every TV series without cast, House Season 2 can remain castless, even though its perfect, and its perfect in my database! Lets vote to overule this badly thought out rule! What part of "It's a violation of IMDb's ToS" don't you people get? IMDb does not allow it's data to be 'mined' for use in other commercial applications. The rule is there to ensure that Invelos doesn't get into any legal trouble. The problem is, some of their casts lists are so screwed up it is just easier to start from scratch. That being said, as long as the cast list matches the end credits and follows the rules, it doesn't matter what your starting data looked like. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | They also do little tricks (poison) with the data, like film credited role might be "Petersen" but, IMDB would have "Peterson". If you weren't paying attention you could easily not notice the difference.
Like Unicus says you would be better starting from scratch than trying to correct all their mistakes. | | | Are you local? This is a local shop the strangers you would bring would not understand us, our customs, our local ways. |
