But...
It's my understanding that the comparison screen shows your profile compared to the new main DB profile. So, you're getting 1 and 3 and not 2. Am I wrong? If I read his first post right, his plugin will show 2 and 3, not 1. | | | John

When looking at the update eval screen the ONLY thing you are seeing is YOUR data versus the New Online data, the Old data cannot be displayed anymore because....it doesn't exist.
Skip And from what I unsderstand, this plugin has nothing to do with voting, it has to do with accepting or rejecting updates to your database. | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... |

If I read his first post right, his plugin will show 2 and 3, not 1. If the plugin replaces the comparison screen, it has to use your DB and the current main DB profile. There is no where it can get an older profile from. I bleiev the plugin shows the same data that the current one still shows, it is just shown in adifferent format to make it easier to compare | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... |

I was talking about the comparison screen that you see when voting. My suggestion makes no sense if we're talking about the "update" comparison screen. Sorry 'bout that! Maybe someone would like to do a plug-in to do the voting comparison screen as I've described?? Pretty please. Frankly, I don;t have the technical savvy to do it myself, or I would! | | | Hal |

I like this. It would save having to toggle back and forth between the changes and contribution notes windows. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. The most recent contribution note may not refer to the update you are dealing with. Otherwise I don't see a problem. In fact, you can do this already with normal HTML sections and some plain-vanilla JScript. | | | Matthias |

| Posted: | | | | This takes a bit longer than I expected, because half-way through, I was foolish enough to start writing my own diff markup engine instead of using the MS Word revision feature. Main reason for this is that I like a 2-sided presentation better than the merged view created by MS Word. Also, the MS Word revision does not recognize moved data, it only uses the DEL/INS approach.
So, stay tuned, I hope the result will be really cool - otherwise I would have wasted a *lot* of time. | | | Matthias |
