Why not some notification in DVD Profiler instead.  When starting the program it could check and tell you that there is "unvoted pending" profiles.  It wouldn't take much resouces (much less than emails) and make sure to prevent the spam database risks.

Not that I need that because I think it would be better than emails if any kind of notification was to be implemented.

Or, bumping it, why not a PM notification?
I mean an opt-in daily digest, as others said, to notify new unvoted pending profiles in your collection or any NO vote for your contributions.

Talking about opt-in, why not a RSS feed?

I'm pondering how to create a Yahoo Widget for voting and contribution status without a RSS feed.  With one, it would be a breeze.  Without one, the only way I can think of would require screen scraping using the widget to log onto the website as you, fetch the vote tally of each available letter page, and then your contribution status.  Would end up causing undue load on the server if too many people ended up using it.

So it boils down to that if Ken can create a RSS feed when passed in a User ID & Password, I can create a nifty Yahoo widget that'll look better than your generic RSS feed reader.
