| Posted: | | | | I thought this had been long decieded, the child profiles will contain cast and crew for the episodes on that child. And the parent will have all the cast and crew for all episodes. Users can choose to download the children or not. Any data that they don't want in the children or parent they can change locally but, the online DB will have the cast and crew data in children and parent. | | | Are you local? | Posted: | | | | For TV sets I do not store child profiles at all. Therefore the credits have to be in the parent. |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks Tom, that's exactly what I meant.
I didn't mean/want to alter rules in regards to how credits are in profiles, just how people prefer them. |

I didn't mean/want to alter rules in regards to how credits are in profiles, just how people prefer them. okay, since that's been clear up... i prefer adding child profiles for each disc in the series/season: quicker to see what episodes are where, less of a scroll down the page to find info. and may i say i adore any of you who are working you tushes off compiling these profiles and submitting them...you know who you are, you wonderful people. krik | | | "Vampirism is still not a disease, Julia. This may change, but I am still in the process of setting up child profiles for TV, whcih I plan to use mainly for more detailed "Watched" profiling. I can understand that. But how do you track when you have listened to an AC? Or watched a featurette? Do you want to create profiles for them, too? (Rhetorical question) Full-blown profiles for content items are overkill and clutter the database unnecessarily. Maybe someday DVDProfiler will come up with a better way to handle this. Until then, I'm using an external DB to keep track of content items and watched times. | | | Matthias |

Until then, I'm using an external DB to keep track of content items and watched times. Child profiles are available, so I use them fr that purpose (only). I am not creating any and don't intend to... And I am actually trimming them down, as I only need them to track the watched status (so no, Cast and Crew, no Genres, etc.), only the few things needed for the disc-level. I am planning to track the AC via Tags (I used to listen to them right the next day, but haven't done so in a long time, so I am very backtracked on that...), but no need for Featurettes, those get usually watched immediately... | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. | Posted: | | | | I released the profile for the Untouchables both ways with a note that this done so the user could take they pick. If do one for the first disc and copy it to the parent and add to the parent using word pad it doesn't take much effort to have it both ways. "Complete Series/Season & Anthologies of Episodes – List all Cast Members for a TV Series appropriately. Use the Divider feature to indicate episode divisions.
Individual profiles for each disc may be submitted if desired, but this is not required. Add these profiles to the box set contents of the parent profile. When submitting a change to an existing TV series profile that is currently a box set, do not remove the existing contents.
In either case, the cast and crew are to be entered into the parent profile using appropriate episode dividers."
So, where do you prefer the cast/crew to be located in? The parent or child profiles or both?
Personally I like them in the parent profile. That way I can have them all in one profile. Also I don't need to download the child profiles (with all the TV series there are likely hundreds of child profiles) since these child profiles take up more room.
