If your going to profile a bonus disc it should fit this rule.

If a Box Set contains discs of Bonus Material for individual films, do not create separate profiles for these discs. Add the information to the individual film’s profile as normal for a single film 2-Disc set. If there is a disc of Bonus Material for all films included in the Box-set, create a separate profile for this disc.

We have you for that...

You were a great supporter of having rules that don't allow eager addition of Bonus Materials. When did you change your mind...?

Now on to your M*A*S*H example.  Since this is a separately purchased product, I would say we should absolutely profile it.  I've profiled plenty of discs that are neither movies or TV shows.  How else could you ever track that purchase if you don't add a profile for it.  You would loose too much valuable information.

It's purchased separately, but I understand it's the final episode, plus the Bonus Features, is it not? If so, then the episode must get profiled, of course, but the Bonus Disc should not get it's own profile.

From what I read... it is indeed the 2hr. final episode plus the extras from the Medicine & Martinis series set.

That is how I read it as well.  If that is indeed the case, then it should be treated like any other single feature set with bonus discs.

10/10 on sarcasm.

0/10 for providing the knowledge that we're missing.

If you'd be so kind as to enlighten us, perhaps we could provide more informed input to the question being asked without dragging this thread down to the level of pretty much every other thread out there.

Based on the new data others have given, I'd ask if the bonus materials relate the final episode or to season 11/entire series.  If they're about the final episode, I'd say don't submit them.  If they're about season 11 or the entire series, my vote would be to profile them.

Well at least quote my ideas and thoughts correctly, Achim. The ONLY reason I do not, in general support, Bonus Disc profiling is because we have no way to provide specific information at this time. I have also made my suggestion for what I envision as probably the best way to approach the issue many times.

But before one gives voiuce to opinions such as the one you voiced, Achim. You need to find out that about which you speak. As Pete noted, the Bonus discs are those from the Complkete Series Set, which were NOT provided to those of us that spent 5 1/2 years collecting the entire set. And instead of offeering to provide the Bonus Discs to people like myself, Fox dedcided they could hit us up for more money...now isn't that a surprise. That said the Bonus Discs consist of over 6 hours of material on the ENTIRE SERIES.

Now there you go, Mark. Better to ask before sticking nose in.  Then the sarcasm would have been unnecessary.

I think we should when it's packaged separately, like Star Wars trilogy, Indiana Jones, or even the Walmart DVD Extras that come in a separate Keepcase (Chillin' with Scrat, Cars Geared-up Bonus DVD, Matador Bonus Disc, etc.)  In the package with the feature, however, we have the ability to add a separate disc to that profile.  Same cover as the feature, etc.  But when it's separate, profile away, I say.

You should re-read Mark's post. The sarcasm was unnecessary either way. I had to guess my way along and go out on the internet to find the required information. I apologize for not having been informed properly and therefore making uneducated posts.

I give you credit though, it would have been up to the person who created the vote to provide all necessary information, not the users posting in it.

My No vote for the general question asked remains. As for this particular item, I am only slightly concerned that it will set an example and therefore open a can of worms...

Well, you completely missed my point about providing us the neccessary information about this set so we can make an informed opinion.  For example you could have said "Go read this review and it should answer all your questions about the content of this set".  Or you could have explained what's on the set if you own it.  Or you could have just answered my question about if the bonus material was about the final episode or the whole series.

Anyway, having read that review, it sounds like the bonus material is about the series as a whole.  So I would say that this bonus material should have it's own profile.  But I also realize that this situation is somewhat unique at this point and I'm open to debate.

First of all, I like the rules as they are.  We profile discs that cover multiple movie, but not the bonus discs for a single movie.  It's served us well so far.

Now on to your M*A*S*H example.  Since this is a separately purchased product, I would say we should absolutely profile it.  I've profiled plenty of discs that are neither movies or TV shows.  How else could you ever track that purchase if you don't add a profile for it.  You would loose too much valuable information.

But I had to vote Depends.  Because your poll question seems to be an all or nothing question.  And I don't think we should say we profile all bonus disc or we profile no bonus discs.

You read it correctly. The question is, all or nothing or sometimes and add an explanation. I edited the first post so there can be no misunderstanding what I'm asking.

I'm not trying to be rude but please, re-read my post. This time take it for what is there instead of what you want to add to it.

You might not be trying to be rude, but you are. Why do people think that civility is not required on the internet?

Once more a discussion here turns into petty sniping.

I won't be back to this thread. Not worth my time.
