I'm not giving you attitude. My no vote comment reads "Edmond Dantès is an AKA for John Hughes. Please use 'credited as'." I even used please. | | | ...James

| Posted: | | | | Looks perfectly reasonable to me. No-one says you HAVE to do it, Skip, and no one can MAKE you do it. What's the big deal? Suck it up. |

| Posted: | | | | As I said, James had you left that comment with a Yes vote, I would have probably acted on it, but the No vote tells me something entirely different, that made it a demand and not a request.
I make these kind of requests all the time with Yes votes and users generally make the fix.

| Posted: | | | | Allow me to pint out who is the target here, by all, and then you wonder why I won't spend additional time.
I have yet to see anyone say, hey James, he has offered you a way out...take it and be happy.
But as usual with James, His interpretation of the Rules is the only with any validity.

| Posted: | | | | Personally, I would not have known that these two names refer to the same person, so I would have submitted the change the same way that Skip did.
On the other hand, if someone (anybody, even you Skip) had notified me through the voting system that one was an AKA of the other, I would have fixed it right away.
I hate to say it Skip, but this thread is just another indication that you over-react to any feedback (especially if you perceive it to be negative) from a certain group of users here. My guess is that if Rifter had done the same thing, there would never have been a thread posted in this forum! | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |

| Posted: | | | | I won't deny that might be possible, Hal. Maybe the users involved might consider that. As I said I have offered a way out that is far more appropriate that the one that James took.
As far as I am concerned he is abusing his voting privilege to impose his will upon ME, and demand that I spend the time. as opposed to what the same note says to me with a Yes vote. One way is a demand, the other is a request and at this point with the new system a request works a lot better.
Also as usual, hal I am quick to be the target. I have offered James a way out. maybe you could point it out to him hmmmmm.

| Posted: | | | | Personally I believe the NO vote it the only real way to let the contributor know what you think. Having recently contributed a lot in one day I can say I did not look at every yes vote to see if someone had a suggestion or correction. I did look at every no vote I received. A couple I withdrew the contribution, one a corrected and resubmited, and a couple I left as is. A NO vote with an explanation of why is exactly what should have happened in this situation. The submitter can do what he wishes then. Change it, withdraw it, or leave it as is. There really is no issue here that I can see |
