It should be:

Escape from Sobibor

Not trying to be difficult here ... but what if the actual title on the DVD shows the beginning letters of all the words in capitals? What if ALL the words are capitalized?

Ones that have me wondering are:

2 Days in the Valley ... cover shows 2 days in the valley

20,000 Leagues Under The Sea ... cover shows 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA

These are only a couple of examples ...

Just want to know how these should actually read.

We don't follow the capitalization of the DVD or the credits, but there are some rare situations where it is nonsensical to capitalize any other way, e.g. eXistenZ.

Point taken ... I was just kinda curious.

I did post after this original post stating that I realized that you should really follow the rules of English when contributing ... unless you have an example that you posted above.

OMG, is there nothing that will not be argued.

Does anybody know what is...is?

If you were referring to me, Skip, I was not arguing at all.  I was simply clarifying.  If you do not want people to "parse" the Rules then it would be wise to make them as clear as they can be made.  The phrase "joining word" simply does not cover all of the words that should not be capitalized in a Title.  That's all I was trying to get across.

It never ceases to amaze me at just how everybody worked to try to make the Rules clear, users still get confused and find all kinds of holes that they can crawl through.

That's the English language for you.  Just not as precise as we wish it were.

We always use proper title capitalization according the language of the title no matter what strange capitalization form has been used on the cover.

Actually From is an action word it is what they are doing at Sobibor, they are escaping from it.  It is not Escape of Sobibor which I would agree would not require capitalization.  The from is the actual action of what is happening at the site.

Take an English class.  You are wrong.

Excuse me for making a mistake are personal attacks really necessary though.

Escape from Sobibor was approved and released.

It only had 1 vote on it, a negative

so per Ken & Gerri from is correct
